CHAPTER 15- THE FEMALE LEAD
It may seem unbelievable but I'm telling the truth! I was transmigrated into this world. My memory may be funny but I recall this well.
Lucia Oraylea is the female lead. I am the female lead.
However, there seem to be some setbacks from the original story that I don't recall.
I pulled out the chair and sat at the dining room table.
The emperor was supposed to meet me in the garden a week or so ago but he never came, It was Lucia's first-ever interaction with the emperor so I remember it vividly. Maybe this world has slight changes?
"Sister?" I heard the boy sitting on the other end of the dining hall call out "you've been zoning out a lot lately, are you perhaps sick?" I looked up to see my brother; future crown prince Leopold staring at me with a look of concern on his face.
"My apologies brother, I've just been really flustered lately!" I smiled
"With my birthday party coming up super soon!" I raised my fist in the air faking childish joy
He smiled back at me "You must be excited sister, the emperor approved our request to have your birthday ball hosted by the imperial family." Leopold sipped his cup of tea
"But brother- there is no imperial family as of now since the emperor has no kids..." I stared down at my lap.
"Yes, I see sister..." Leopold's head turned towards the butler who nodded his head understandingly
I watched their interaction carefully. That's right brother believes I'm unaware I am the emperor's daughter, from what I recall she was told by her brother right before her birthday banquet. Right around now...
. . .
I remember reading this web-novel 2-3 years ago, so my memory is sloppy. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to get a live-action and I was actually looking forward to watching it when it came out.
To think I died before they even started filming... Bad luck huh.
"Brother I'm going to excuse myself to my room." Leopold waved me off.
As I walked back to my room I noticed the butler was following me.
Despite knowing how this story ends I have an unsettling feeling as of late. Like something is wrong with the story. I should have been in the imperial palace ages ago, Being and preparing for my birthday banquet where I get officially introduced as the emperor's daughter.
Then looking forward to my official debut into society, and once that's all over and done with... My coming of age ceremony where Sorren proposes to me. Of course, I know the story didn't go that smoothly thanks to that wretch Sovvia...
"Butler. Is there a reason you follow me?" I asked
"Yes m'lady, there is something I must inform you about, per your brother's orders..." The butler bowed slightly
"Why couldn't brother just tell me?" I voiced trying to feign ignorance.
"Please come with me, m'lady." The butler smiled as he led us to an empty bedroom
He pulled back the chair of the vanity and hopped on. "M'lady as you know the emperor is sponsoring your birthday party." I nodded
"We should have told you this long before." He took a deep breath "The emperor is in fact your father, this may be hard to believe but I only speak the truth! Or maybe you are too young to under sta-"
I raised my hand out to stop him "What you say is the truth correct?" I smiled happily
He nodded
"That means I'll get to see my father right?" I bounced in my chair excitedly
"Yes, actually this birthday of yours was meant to be an early debut party your brother and I have been planning."
Hm? This was new
"We decided it would be best to announce you were the emperor's daughter whilst he was present to acknowledge you."
It was a smart plan I guess...
I can't shake off this bad feeling in my stomach...
But it doesn't matter! As the female lead ill get my happily ever after no matter what's thrown at me!
.
.
.
"That's a bit tight down to think I squealed as the maids pulled back the corset of my dress.
" no lady it's just right for you! You need to look perfect for today! Even if it isn't your official debut you still need to make a good impression."
That's right my eighth birthday is finally upon us, Today is the day I introduce myself to the emperor, the most perfect unofficial debut!
"We should use this in her hair!"
"No this!"
I tuned out the maids squabbling
I rehash the plan. Once I'm introduced I'll have to give great impressions of myself befitting of royalty.
Once the emperor is introduced I shall approach his throne, whilst everyone is mingling among each other I will boldly call him father and then gauge his reaction.
But I must do this whilst upholding the kindness the original sovvia had! He's supposed to melt at the first sight of me!
If he acts confused I will request to speak in private and go on from there.
Being the female lead sure is troubling...
"Mlady do you like your outfit?" I stood up to look in the mirror, Truly I was a beauty.
Now that I recall Sorren Godswind will be at my celebration as well, It wouldn't be so bad to rush ahead a bit and introduce myself. I giggled quietly.
.
.
.
Now announcing
"Lady Lucia!" The announcer called my name as I walked down the stairs of the royal banquet hall. My brother's hand was in mine as he led me down the stairs.
People clapped in awe as I made it to the centre of the room
"She truly I beautiful"
"Does anyone know what family she is a part of?"
"Must be prestigious if the emperor is sponsoring this"
"Could she be related to the emperor in some way?"
I smiled at their comments, oh you have no idea; a grin spread across my face.
Looking around the room my eyes locked with another. Golden yellow eyes, hair as black as night. Sorren Godswind.
I made my way over to him as my brother began to converse with the guests.
"Happy birthday Lady Lucia." He smiled at me whilst bowing, a red blush on his face
"Thank you sir Godswind." I curtsied
We began talking about typical things whilst a thought crossed my mind.
I truly had nothing to worry about things are going smoothly, just like in the original. A few setbacks here and there but overall pretty good.
All of a sudden trumpets began going off. Now is the time.
"Now enter Emperor Julius and his daughter crown princess Sovvia"
Excuse me, what?
Before I could process the scene before me I watched as the emperor descended from the stairs the hand of a maiden in his own.
Dark skin, blue eyes, and hair resembling that of a crow's feathers.
She truly was Sovvia...
