Aftermath (III)...

While Daichi and the others left, Yuriko's group decided to stay back in the kitchen for the time being.

"How dare he?! How dare he talk to us like that?!" Tsukomo growled in anger. He simply couldn't believe how a teenager walked all over them like they didn't even matter and what was even more shocking was that nobody tried to support them.

Nobody stood up for them and that hurt his pride even more. They were simply trying to help others, how could a mere boy who was yet to see the world ask them to stop? He was taken aback by the fact that the majority of the group, including several adults agreed with the boy.

Now Tsukomo could finally understand why Souichiro-sama hated Yozora Kemono. From the looks of it, the woman was extremely ruthless and brutal. The woman was also completely immoral and inhumane, she even had an intimate relationship with her own son. Yes, the boy wasn't her own son, but their relationship was still immoral. Now that he had seen the boy closely, the boy was just like his adoptive mother.

Yozora Daichi was equally as nefarious as his mother, why else would he demand they stop saving humans. He even threatened to feed them to Zombies if they didn't listen to him. If this wasn't tyranny then he didn't know what was. The way he talked with Kou was extremely insulting too. Plus, the boy also seemed to have an intimate relationship with a lot of women at the same time.

There was a reason why he thought that a teenager wasn't fit to be a leader. When Yuriko told him that an adult should lead them, he completely agreed with her. After all, he believed that in a ruined world like this, only an adult was mature enough to lead, but he was surprised to find that even adults voted for a boy who was only slightly older than a high schooler.

Now, after just a short period of being incharge, they had ample proof that a teenager wasn't fit to lead… With the help of his colleagues, he needed to do something or else they risked becoming just as deranged as Yozora Daichi and Yozora Kemono. It wasn't going to be an easy task, especially with that Busujima girl and that insane woman always around the boy. The maid was also not someone simple, but he was sure that they would somehow prevail.

He just needed to show the others that only an adult was fit to lead… Then all of a sudden, he was brought out of his musings when Yuriko broke her silence, especially when she ended up saying something he was expecting.

"He is right" Yuriko said with a grim look on her face. Tsukomo, Aoba, Sara, and Kou couldn't help but smile after hearing Yuriko's words. All four of them were expecting Yuriko to speak up as she was quite a charismatic person, not as much as Souichiro Takagi, but it was okay. She was more charismatic than the four of them combined and they needed a leader like her if they wanted to take control of the group.

"Excellent! Now we only need to plan on how to take over!" Sara cheered happily and Yuriko looked at them with a grim look on her face before she started to shake her head.

"The four of you misunderstood me, I was saying that Yozora Daichi is right" Yuriko corrected them, and the others in the room were completely taken aback by her words. They simply couldn't comprehend what Yuriko was trying to say…

"How could you…?" Sara questioned with a gasp.

"Because I have a daughter. Yozora Daichi might seem to be immoral and heartless, but he prioritizes the safety of the group before anything else. My daughter is a part of this group and as long as she is here, I will support him since the safety of the group is his priority. I also feel bad that we can't help others, but as a mother, my daughter is more important than everyone out there" Yuriko said while looking down at her own hands.

After hearing her words, the others in the room simply gaped at her like she had grown a second head. Yuriko shook her head for the second time and slowly stood up from the seat. Then she finally raised her head to stare at them with a pleading look in her eyes. "Please, I am begging you not to try anything, he might follow through with his threat and I don't want that. All of you decided to accompany me from Takagi mansion and I sincerely don't want to lose anyone of you" Yuriko pleaded, but from the looks of it, her pleading didn't seem to have worked.

Yuriko smiled humourlessly. "I see…" Yuriko sighed and walked out of the room without saying anything else. There was nothing else to say on her part. If she couldn't convince them with all that she had said already, then there was no way that she could convince them.

Tsukomo snorted in disdain as soon as Yuriko left the room. "I can't believe that she just said that" Tsukomo shook his head with a scowl.

"Hah… We don't need her. We can do it without her" Sara proclaimed haughtily and the other two also nodded their heads in agreement.

"Yes. Now, we only need a plan…" Aoba trailed off with a smile and the others hummed in agreement. All three of them started to talk about various scenarios to carry out the coup, but none of them noticed the purple-haired woman listening to their conversation from outside the window with a creepy grin on her face…

"How are you feeling?" Daichi asked Ichika the next morning. He was informed by Shizuka that the girl they had brought with them was already awake, but she was still very weak. The girl won't be able to leave the bed, but at the same time, she won't have any problems talking with the others. The boy was also awake, but he was very weak right now and Shizuka insisted that the boy needed more rest so she had put him to sleep.

Shizuka wasn't a doctor, she was only a school nurse, but she still knew quite a few things in case of emergencies. Like some students have nerve diseases, so if anything happened, she needed to handle the situation until the emergency services arrive. Similarly, she didn't know how to treat stab wounds, but she knew how to stop the bleeding. She knew that the boy who was stabbed had lost a lot of blood so he needed rest and it was pretty clear that the girl was having nerve problems.

Daichi still had some time before they needed to leave for today's mission, so he decided to have a chat with Ichika before leaving…

"Ah… I am a lot better than yesterday, thank you for asking" Ichika answered with a small stutter. Daichi didn't miss the fact that Ichika was still twitching from time to time.

"I see, that is good to hear. So, what can you tell me about your Skill?" Daichi asked without beating around the bush. He seemed to be acting very polite, but that didn't mean that he was going to show any mercy to the girl. It was not that Daichi was still angry with her, but he simply didn't want a talent like Ichika slipping from his grasp. Her Skill was going to be extremely useful in the future and he wanted to see what type of Skills or powers she would be able to awaken after Levelling up.

Ichika couldn't help but grimace as soon as she heard the question. She simply released a sigh… She was already expecting this as soon as she heard that the leader of the group wanted to talk with her. "...The name of my Skill is Persuasion. Using my Skill I could persuade anyone, but as you already know that my Skill is not absolute, I failed to persuade you with my Skill" Ichika explained with a grimace.

"True…" Daichi inclined his head. "What are the limitations of your Skill?" Daichi asked curiously. Ichika was a smart girl and she prided herself on being superior to others, so she obviously knew what was going to happen to her. At least, she had a suspicion.

'He wants to know the weakness of my Skill so that he can control me…' Ichika concluded inside her mind. If her situation was different she would have told him to screw off… 'I have to listen to everything he says. Not that I have any other options… I will do anything as long as it means that I don't have to feel that pain again' Ichika decided with determination.

"I can only use the Skill on one person at a time and I also need to have eye contact with the said person. Due to my Mana Reserve, I could only use the Skill twice in quick succession before I need to wait for my Mana Reserve to regenerate" Ichika answered honestly. She could have lied, but she had no idea if they had any means of detecting lies or not. It was better to be safe than sorry.

Daichi rubbed his chin. 'Even with the limitations, her Skill should be extremely useful, but there is no way that I am going to trust her…' Daichi decided. After waking up in the morning he had a small discussion with Bella, he wanted to know if there was a way to keep Sato Ichika in check or not. Bella obviously had an answer for him…

"I see… I have decided that I will allow you to join our group, but there is something you need to do before that can happen" Daichi smiled politely and Ichika knew that there was no way that she could refuse. If she did, then there was a chance that he might throw her in front of the Zombies. So, Ichika simply nodded her head in agreement.

"Good! Bella, please come in" Daichi called out. The door opened with a click and Bella entered the room with a vicious grin on her face. Bella waved at Ichika, who became as white as a sheet as she laid eyes upon the source of her pain…
