VS Wolves (I)...

Daichi decided to indefinitely borrow a mini-van for the newer members of their group. Anthony's group consisted of 7 members including Anthony. Before leaving the intersection, Daichi was introduced to all the members. Anthony Reeds, Joyce Bell, Dylan Carver, and Candice Spencer were the only Level 1s who had any sort of combat abilities, but none of their combat abilities was anything special.

Anthony Reeds' Skill allowed him to use Super Strength. It was kind of self-explanatory, but it was useful as long as he maintained distance, at least, in the case of Zombies. His future was kind of bleak if a Zombie took a bite out of him.

Joyce Bell's Skill allowed her to use Water magic, which was mostly useless while dealing with Zombies as Joyce was unable to form any sort of bladed or pointed weapons using her Magic. At best, she could only push back the Zombies at the moment.

Dylan Carver's Skill allowed him to harden his skin. His Skill was just like the Zombie Daichi dealt with before scanning the QR code, but unlike the Zombie he simply needed to touch the material instead of eating it, but the material would turn to dust after he used his Skill on it.

Candice Spencer's Skill allowed her to use her Super Speed. Well, calling it Super Speed was more of a stretch, it was more like Speed Boost. Her Skill allowed her to boost her agility by 10%, so obviously, her Skill was dependent on the Agility parameter. Well, it wasn't much, but anything was better than nothing.

Then there were the last three members of their group. The three of them were mostly useless in combat. One of them was even Level 1, but he wasn't for combat. Matthew Hyde was a Level 1, but he was much more useful in the backline because of his Skill. His Skill's name is Mana Cook and the food cooked by him would regenerate your Health, Stamina, and Mana. His Skill was kind of similar to Saya Takagi's Skill, but there were some glaring differences between their Skills.

Christine Becker and Gisele Lark were completely useless when it came to combat. They were so scared of the Zombies, that they would break down or start to shiver while hugging each other if a Zombie appeared in front of them. Well, Daichi could always make them work in the kitchen or the laundry. They could at least do that much if they really wanted to survive in a world like this.

From Anthony, Daichi found out that they were visiting Japan for a college trip. They were staying at this hotel when shit hit the fan, there were a lot more students from their group on the upper floors too, but with the Zombies lurking around the hallways and the staircase, there was no way that they could come down. Daichi could rescue them with help of Bella and Saeko if he wanted, but if he did that then he would have to give up his trip to the gas station, and that was something Daichi wasn't willing to give up.

Daichi could always save them at a later date and after hearing about their condition from Anthony, Daichi knew that they weren't going anywhere if nobody among the rest decided to become a hero. Not only that, the rest of their college group was trapped inside a building with nowhere to run, if anything went wrong during their escape then they would end up getting eaten by the Zombies and slowly the Zombies were also leveling up, so dealing with Zombies was not going to be easy anymore.

Anthony decided to travel on the Humvee while Mattew was going to drive the mini-van. Since all of the new members had their smartphones on their person, Daichi made them scan the QR code too… All of them received the same amount of Units which wasn't that surprising, Daichi didn't stop any of them from creating a Streaming Channel. Daichi wanted to see if they needed to use Units if they wanted to stream, and it seems that Daichi was right.

Even if someone was broadcasting, he or she needed to pay 10 Units per hour. Right now, Daichi didn't know if you also needed to pay to watch streams too or not since nobody was streaming at this moment. Though Daichi was hoping for it to be free. 'Things are going to become even more troublesome in the future… I also need to look for a new base, our current base is not big enough' Daichi sighed as stared out of the window.

"What's eating you up?" All of a sudden, Saeko questioned, bringing Daichi out of his musings.

"We are going to need a new base" Daichi answered without missing a beat as he slowly turned towards Saeko.

"Um… There is a place I know we could use" Yuriko, who was driving the Humvee spoke from the front. Daichi simply told her to continue. "It is a building under construction, it was supposed to be the tallest and strongest building in this city when finished, it is mostly finished except for the exterior" Yuriko explained and Daichi hummed with a thoughtful look on his face.

"Where is it?" Daichi didn't mind that the building wasn't finished. According to Yuriko, the interior was done and the interior was the most important thing. Daichi decided to reserve his judgment until he saw the building.

"It is a few blocks away from the Tokunosu City Police Station" Yuriko answered with a small frown.

"Then we will check it out tomorrow I suppose" Daichi waved his hand in a dismissive manner. The Police Station was on the other side of the bridge and even though the bridge was probably empty after last night's incident, Daichi wasn't planning on visiting the other side of the bridge today. Now that the block on the bridge was gone, Daichi was also planning to visit the police station.

If the cops were hunkered down in there then he would simply leave them, but if the police station was empty then he was going to help himself with their armory. Daichi didn't have any shortage of weapons since Roberta had decided to bring some toys with her and it didn't even put a dent in their whole collection. They could always go to his house to get more weapons, but he didn't want the weapons in the police station lying around.

A gun made it extremely easy for even a normal person to take a life and in a world like this, Daichi didn't want other groups to have guns. Was Daichi acting heartless and selfish? Heck yeah!! But it was for the Greater Good of his group and if he had more guns, survivors would be wanting to join his group in droves because guns were a sign of power.

"Is this the gas station you were talking about?" Daichi asked as a massive gas station finally came into the view. Daichi remembered that Kemono had probably brought him here some time. Yuriko simply nodded her head. "Then it would be better if you stopped the car here" Daichi added with a scowl on his face.

Yuriko immediately stopped the car without any arguments. "Those dogs are huge…" Anthony gasped in horror. The gas station was being guarded by a few mutated beasts.

"Those are not dogs, my friend, those are wolves" Daichi corrected Anthony with a grimace and Anthony paled in fear.

"Milord, we are going to fight them, right?" Bella asked in an excited tone and Daichi simply nodded his head.

"You can't be seriously thinking of fighting them!! That's suicide man!!" Anthony tried to dissuade Daichi from throwing away his life.

"Daichi, I agree with him. They are just too many, let's get out of here before they notice us. We can find another gas station" Yuriko also tried to dissuade Daichi from doing something foolish, but Daichi has already made up his mind.

Daichi wasn't going to lie, he was scared. He was sure that all of them were probably Level 1 and he wouldn't be surprised if the Leader of the pack was a Level 2. Daichi easily noticed that one of the wolves was much larger than the others, but he still decided to fight. Daichi knew that it was kind of stupid, but now he could no longer gain any Stats from Level O or Level 1 enemies. Additionally, he also needed to finish his job requirements or he would never reach Level 2. He needed to keep moving forward or else he would lose his drive…

"Bella, can you make a weapon for me?" Daichi asked and Bella nodded her head with stars in her eyes.

"What type of weapon do you need, milord?" Bella asked with a fanatical grin on her face.

"Can you make a battle hammer for me?" Daichi asked in an excited tone. Daichi could handle a sword or spear too since Kemono had taught him the basics, but Daichi felt that a blunt weapon was more suitable for his fighting style. Bella eagerly nodded and started to create a battle hammer for Daichi.

"Takagi-san, I want you to retreat as soon as leave the car. Saeko you are going to accompany us, right?" Daichi said while looking at Yuriko and after that, he turned towards Saeko.

Saeko softly smiled. "I wouldn't have done anything else…" Saeko answered with a smile.

"Daichi, please, there is no reason…" once again Yuriko tried to convince Daichi, but he simply cut her off.

"I understand your concerns, and I am scared too, but this is something we need to do… We need to finish our job requirements so that we can reach Level 2. Just trust me" Daichi implored with a determined look on his face and after Yuriko saw the determined look on Daichi's and Saeko's faces, she could only agree with them, albeit reluctantly…
