Chapter 43

When the day arrived, Faolán woke up and felt that Alanna's bed side was cold. He sat up immediately and heard the shower running. Then a smell made him alert. He sniffed the air and smelled a scent he couldn't distinguish, but his senses screamed 'danger!'. Immediately, he went to the bathroom and knocked on the door.

"Love?" he asked. She turned off the shower when she heard Faolán calling for her.

"Yes?"

"Is everything okay in there?" He wanted to go in, but she didn't give him permission. Okay, they had pretty much almost fucked, but still, it was her space and he didn't want to intrude it. But he was nervous.

Alanna could feel the tension in his voice. His heartbeat and his scent indicated something was wrong.

"Oh, yes. I'm quite done, here."
