When He Stalks You

~The Trapper/ Evan MacMillan~

.

You're digging a hole right in front of the brick wall. You tried going over the wall, but somehow, someway, you can't even go up halfway up the wall no matter how hard you tried. It's like something pulls you back down.

You found an old shovel nearby and now you're working on getting out of this weird place. What's probably even weirder is that it's still night out and your sketchbook and pencils are gone. It was in your message bag and when you woke up; it was gone. You looked everywhere for it, but you couldn't find it anywhere as far as you looked. And now, you're digging so you can try to go under the wall.

And while you're digging, someone is watching you. He's far from where you are, but his vision is better than any human. And his hunting skills make him a great hunter, so he knows how to stalk his prey without making a sound. He's watching you use the old shovel, digging into the dirt. He knows it's not going to work, but he just thought it would be interesting to watch you try. But he has something in his hands. It's your sketchbook.

He looks down at it and begins to open the pages. The first page is a detailed drawing of a bunny eating a carrot. The second page was a detailed sketch of a tall building. He continues to look at every page of the sketchbook, and so far he's impressed with your work. Reminds him of when he used to draw like this. Back when he was younger and living with his father, he would often sketch animals and scenery in his sketchbook.

Then he gets to a page where it's a sketch of a mother duck and her ducklings swimming in the pond. He pauses as he stares at the drawing. It's very similar to the one he drew so long ago. He doesn't know how long exactly but...

.

Y/n: Motherfucker!

.

He hears you yell and when he looks up back at you; he sees that the head of the shovel broke and the ground filled itself back up. You try to throw the other half of the shovel over the stone walls, but that ricochets back and almost hits you.

.

Y/n: Damn it! Fuck this shit all the way to Hell!

.

You threw that same other half of the shovel at one of the old crates nearby. Thankfully, that didn't ricochet back. The man finds himself chuckling at this. Seeing you get mad and throw a tantrum like that it's pretty cute. He doesn't blame you for getting pissed when your little escape plan didn't work.

He just continued to watch you, and when you moved, he moved. He still doesn't know why you're here, but he does know that maybe you're here in his territory like this for another reason.

You tried to leave the farm with your horse, but the stone walls along with an invisible force field stopped you from going any further once you reached a certain point. No matter which angle of the farm you try, the invisible force field is still there stopping you from leaving.

You're lucky that there's a good amount of food supplies in one of the closets of the house. Which means you don't have to eat old pork meat anymore. Some of them look like thick protein bars. You don't know what exactly is in them, but thankfully just one is enough to make you full.

You don't know why you're here, nor do you know how you even got here. But wherever you are, you have to try to make yourself comfortable for now until you figure out a way out of here.

Right now, you're moving some things out of the barn and reorganizing the haystacks. Other than your horse, there is no other animal around here. And what's strange is that you don't hear a single bird chirping. What kind of place are you in right now?

But little do you know, there is a man watching you from afar. With his chainsaw in his hands, he watches you move some of the hay around. He knows he can turn his chainsaw on and kill you and the horse right now, but instead, he continues to watch you. Confused at what you're doing to his barn.

He's not the smartest guy around, but one thing he does know, is that the game hasn't started. There's no generator around or another survivor here. Plus, he hasn't seen an animal that's alive in who knows how long. He doesn't keep track of how long he's been here. He just knows that seeing the horse reminds him of the horse his father used to own. This alone angers him. Seeing a living creature that was one of dozens his father used to own.

You're finished moving the haystacks around. Now you just need to clean up the barn and get rid of the pig carcasses hanging in the slaughterhouse. That is if you can find a ladder to reach up there. If not, you're going to have to figure something out.

But ever since you got out of the old hose this morning, or... you think it's the morning, you feel like you're being watched. Even your horse was acting strange as well.

You don't know if there's such a thing as time here. You can't tell if it's night or day, or if this is just some weird dream and you're in a coma in real life. But you do know, is that there seems to be nothing out there for possibly miles.

What if you got knocked out during practice and you are in a coma? And this is some weird dream you're in until you wake up? No... this all feels too real to be fake. But honestly, being in a coma right now is what you're hoping for.

At least there's food in the fridge, and the fridge is still in working condition despite looking old. But why does the food you take from the fridge get instantly replaced as soon as you close the fridge door?

Right now, you're outside getting some firewood to get for the fireplace. Amazingly, when you pick the firewood out of the pile, that also gets instantly replaced with more firewood. Trying not to let this place bother you as much as it is, you just keep gathering firewood and putting it inside next to the fireplace.

But what you didn't know was that someone was watching you not so far away. Sitting on one of the thick branches of an oak tree by the cabin. A man watches you gathering firewood. In his mind, he knows that a "game" hasn't started. He knows that when it's all over he gets sent back here to rest and stuff. His friends haven't come back yet, and when they do, he'll have to tell them to hold off on you. Just until he figures out why you're here and not where the rest of the survivors are. Who knows, maybe you'll be good for him to play with until the game starts.

He's also got to admit that you're pretty cute to look at too. Maybe he should go over and talk to you. Find out your name and see what would be on the Entity's mind for it to bring such a vulnerable pretty girl like you here. He's had no problem tricking a survivor that he's one of them.

He then sees you head back inside, closing the door behind you while carrying the last batch of firewood you're getting for now. He then gets down the tree by jumping into a couple of branches below him before landing on the snowy ground. He walks towards the cabin's windows, and he peeks inside to see what you're doing. He sees you putting a couple of new logs into the lit fireplace before you sit down on the sofa. He's noticed that you must have moved the sofa a little closer to the fireplace.

You're all alone, sitting by the fireplace without your hoodie on. Maybe now would be a good time to introduce himself. But first things first, he removes his mask and places it in a close hiding spot by the window.

Y/n: How the fuck is it still nighttime?!

.

You look at the window in the living room and it's still night out. You think you were asleep for a few hours but there's no single sign of the sun coming up. Okay, now you're thinking that this must be a different dimension or something like that. But what can you do to get out of a dimension? Is it really just you in this whole place?

You then walk upstairs to use the bathroom and when you move, someone else moves too. He walks over to the side of the house where there's a big tree next to the house.

.

???: It's been a little bit.

.

He starts to climb up the tree and he manages to find a good branch to sit on. He hears the shower water running. The window's location in the bathroom is higher than normal, meaning that in order for him to see inside he has to lean himself up. But even when he does this, the window's condition is not as good as it was intended. It's kind of blurry, but he can still see the silhouette of the woman he's stalking.

You let the water run through your hands until the water is at the right temperature for you before you begin to take off your shirt. This makes the man lean himself up even more as he tries to get a better look. He can't see as crystal clear as he would like because of the blurry glass window, but he can definitely see the color of your bra and can make out the outline of your breast.

.

???: Damn, and she's got a nice set of-

.

Before he could even finish that sentence, he hears the branch making a deep almost like a crunching noise.

.

???: Aw, fuck me.

.

The branch completely gives out on him, sending him straight to the ground. You hear the branch snap and you turn around to see what happened. Standing on your toes, you look out the blurry window, but you don't see anyone out there. You see a big branch lying on the ground, but you don't see anything else. It was probably just the wind or something. You turn around and remove your clothes before entering the shower.

Meanwhile, the man who was watching you managed to move to the back of the house quickly before you could look out the window. But now his back is killing him.

.

???: Ah shit. Maybe it's better to just say fucking hi.

You walk along the dimly lit hallways of this abandoned health facility. From the looks of it, this was probably a mental institution from the 1900s. Lots of hospital beds, yet there's no medical equipment around. Weird shower rooms with a couple of shower heads still dripping water.

Some parts of the ceilings are either missing or look like they're about to fall down. And somehow, the electricity seems to be still running. Why the Hell are you still here?

You thought that maybe if you fell asleep, that would help wake you up. But now... now you're not sure if you're even dreaming. But what you're not aware of is that someone is watching you from afar.

Confused yet intrigued, the man watches you walk along the hallways of his facility. He recognizes the medical scrubs you're wearing and he can't think of a reason as to why you're here when a trial hasn't started yet. But there is something about you that he can't exactly put his finger on. And he knows that you've slept in his office since when the recent trial was over, the entity sent him back here. And when he walked back to his office, you were the first thing he saw.

Let's just say you're very lucky he didn't kill you right then and there. He actually just allowed you to sleep there and left the room to wait around for you to wake up. But that doesn't mean he's letting you out of his sight. And it definitely doesn't mean he can't mess with you.

Using his ability, he sends a small wave of electricity through the walls and floors until it reaches you. Though it's a considerably small dose of electricity than what he usually sends out, but once it reaches you, it causes you to jump.

.

Y/n: Shit! What did I just step on?

.

All you see is a small puddle of dirty water you just stepped on. You just quickly get out of it before continuing down this weird hospital. You're starting to believe this isn't some dream anymore. No, if it was, you would have woken up by now.

Back to the man stalking you, he enjoys playing with you. Though he still isn't sure why it's just you here and the game hasn't started yet, he knows he can have a little fun before it does. But at the same time, there's just something about you that's getting his mind racing with even more questions than answers.

When was the last time he talked to someone? He doesn't know how long he's been here. That and he's been busy dealing with a lot of patients for his experiments and amusement. Maybe, just maybe he could let you...

.

There's this song you always like to sing when you're alone. The first few lyrics you hum it out, but then you start to say the words out loud to yourself.

.

Y/n: It always seems more quiet, in the dark. It always feels so stark... How silence grows under the moon. Constellations gone so soon... I used to think that I was bold, and I used to think love would be fun. Now all my stories have been told, except for one...

.

The smirk on his face fades as he stares at the woman walking underneath the glass ceiling. The rays of the full moon rain down on her, showing her beauty to those lucky enough to see it even in darkness. He waits for her to continue singing, sensing that she's going to continue with her song.

.

Y/n: As the stars start to align, I hope you take it as a sign, that you will be okay... Everything will be okay. And if the seven rings collide, although the day could be my last, you will be okay... When I'm gone you'll be okay.

.

It's been years since he's heard a slow beautiful melody like this. The last time he did, was when he was a young child. Then the woman jumps onto one of the large crates as she sings the final lyrics of her song.

.

Y/n: And when creations goes to die! You can find me in the sky! Upon the last day... And you will be okay...

.

A memory shoots across his mind, but he quickly shakes the memory away. As to rather forget than to remember. He admits you have a beautiful singing voice and you're pretty, but he isn't going to let you out of his sight so easily. In fact, he's curious as to what other sounds you can make for him.

So long as you're here alone and the game hasn't started, he thinks might as well get a closer look at who just came to his studio.

After your slumber, you walk around to see where you are. But there's no sign and no one around who can help. All the Sakura trees are dead, dead grass, dry dirt, weird walls with no rooms, and dark gray skies are all you can see.

With your backpack on your back, you continue walking along the stone walls that seem to surround this place. Is it weird that this reminds you of the show series you've been watching recently?

Well anyway, you just keep walking until you see a small building, similar to the size of a big shed. Walking up the stairs, you see that it's a shrine. There's a pillow on the floor in front of it, and there's a hanging wall art of a monster-like man wearing a red mask. Similar to the red mask you saw before.

The candles around the shrine are still burning, meaning that someone had to be here to light them. That means there is someone here! And maybe that person, whoever they are can help you. You quickly walk out of the shrine and look around to see if you can find the person anywhere.

.

Y/n: Hello?! Anyone there?

.

You walk down the stairs and look all around you as you keep walking straight down. Careful where you step, you keep your head lifted to see if that someone is around. But little do you know, someone is nearby.

A large man wearing the red Oni mask is standing on the roof of his home. He watches the woman shout and look for someone to help her. With his sword in his hand, he continues watching her until she's far enough. He then jumps off the roof and onto the ground, creating a loud thud to be heard.

You hear the thud and instantly turn around, but you see nothing there. The fog around doesn't help, meaning that you'll have to go back and see where that noise came from.

You walk around the dark neighborhood, unsure of where you are. You don't even know how you got here either. The only sound you can hear is the wind blowing through the trees. No cricket sounds, frogs, nothing at all. And the fact that the entire neighborhood is surrounded by stone walls that are impossible to climb, you're starting to worry that there's no way out of here.

Standing not so far, is the same man that watched you sleep. He stands behind one of the trees and a part of his face can be seen. But even if you were to look everywhere, the fog that carries itself with the air will make it difficult to see him. He watches you walk around, and if you get too far he'll move.

He knows how to stalk someone and almost never be seen. And over the time that he's been here, he's only been getting better at it. Of course, he noticed the advances the entity had given him, but he's been focusing more on killing other survivors than thanking the evil entity.

He then sees you entering one of the houses and instead of entering it, he stands right outside where if you were to see out the window, you'll see him standing there. But when you enter the house, you don't look out any of the windows. You just look around and see if there's anything that can help you get out of here.

But if anything, you hope that you're not the only one in this terrifying world. You don't want to be the only one here, and so you hope that there's someone else around here.

The man can easily see you walking throughout the house because there are no curtains on the first and second floors. He continues to you salk you until the idea finally came to mind.

You look at every symbol marked on the ground, but nothing is coming to mind right now of where you've seen them. All except the for the pentagram of course, but... you don't know where you are.

You enter the old school, hoping to find either something or someone that can help you. But all you see are old rusty lockers, dirty tile floors, some of the lights turning on and off on their own, and abandoned classrooms. Some of the lockers looked like they'd been ripped off. And there's a complete silence in the air.

You don't even know if you should even say anything, in case there's something evil around here. But maybe you're the only one here... at least, that's what you're hoping for. Entering one of the rooms, you come across a couple of bookshelves on the floor. There's some books all over the floor and a few on the bookshelves. Maybe one of these books can help you.

Picking up one of the books on the floor, you take your time flipping and scanning through the pages. Unaware of the mysterious entity standing down the hallway. It's pretty foggy, meaning that you can't see him, but he can see you.

Standing by the staircase, the tall entity stares at the woman reading one of the books. With his large weapon over his shoulder, he silently continues to watch the woman go through book after book. It's unknown what he's thinking. It's very difficult to even tell how he feels about this since he wears the metal pyramid as a mask.

.

Y/n: There has to be something in here. Anything.

.

As minutes go by, he finally decides what he's going to do. He starts walking down the hallway, towards the woman still in the room looking at the books. He takes his time walking down. Even if you see him and run, there's nowhere to run. And there's only so few places to hide.
