THE DENSED MAN!

"What do you want?" Confused with all that was happening, she slouched and stared at the man desperately. There was something about him that made her feel anxious, but she couldn't be bothered, she was almost certain that there was nothing this man standing before her could do to her.

"It's none of your concern, little one... Now, turn around and run home before I change my mind." He answered her in a husky tone and a sarcastic smile on his face. She looked at him for a while and just when she turned to leave, something came to her mind and she said;

"Mister my life is upside down as it is. I don't know what you are planning in your mind but... I never asked for your help." When she turned to look at him, he was no longer there. 'Where could he have gone to just now that I can't find any trace of him? She wondered.'

*Mahina was still confused as to how the strange man was nowhere around the hallway where he was some moments back. When her phone suddenly rang, she picked up the phone and realized a crack on the screen, 'it must have been when Mister Pete threw her purse with the phone inside it, at me' she thought. She cursed inwardly at the sight of her pitiable phone, before picking up the call.

"Girl! Where are you? It's freaking late and I am worried sick about you here." She smiled softly and felt her heart warm up at the sound of her friend's voice.

"Sorry Dora, something came up that's why I am still out late"

"Oh alright... but are you sure you are okay?"

"Yeah! See you in a bit"

The call ended and she dropped her phone back in her purse and stepped out of the hospital hurriedly.

Alba was seated in Mr. Henry's office, in an elegant chair with his legs crossed and his arms rested on the chair. His eyes were closed, and he was slightly smiling as he was waiting for Mr. Henry. He had a silly smile on his face when he remembered Mahina's cuteness and how she easily blushed during their conversations. He opened his eyes after the door creaked open;

"Mr. Henry! I can see how you are abusing the authority I gave you to look after my Hospital. I was just passing by and I decided to drop off a message for you here, then I realized how you are mismanaging my hospital… A very sick patient who could have died was rushed into the hospital but there were no doctors on seat to attend to her. In the whole of this big skyscraper, there were no doctors to attend to her... Who is the doctor in charge of the ground floor?

The old man was frightened to his bones. He stuttered as he replied;

"I-i-i-it's Doctor Kate... she- was conducting a s-s-surgery that was why she was not on ground to attend to the sick patient"

"Come on!" Alba yelled as he stood up. "Give me a better excuse as to why a patient was ignored. She was just lying by the hallway on an emergency bed... does that speak well of my Elites hospital?"

The old man was lost for words. He was frightened of Alba by his every reaction. Alba could not care less about how the old man felt. He swayed his head and stamped both his hands on the office glassy desk angrily;

"Inform all the head doctors that I am coming for a meeting on Monday morning. Tardiness will not be tolerated. He stormed out of the office angrily and slammed the door shut. Mister Henry flinched with fear and dropped his files on the ground.

Alba walked out of the building and entered his Ferrari hurriedly. He was agitated. He switched on the car's music player and murmured under his breath;

"Set of nincompoops". He drove away vexed with Mister Henry.

He arrived at a nightclub called 'Dark Haven' at the same time with two other cars, a Rolls Royce and a Bugatti. The club was bustling inside and outside with sophisticated men and women. But when the people inside the three cars stepped out. The whole crowd screamed with admiration for the handsome men. They were specifically screaming to get the attention of Arlo the CEO of the Young Stars Rising music industry. He smiled back at them. Arlo loved the attention he got from his fans. He loves the fame, the glitz and glam that came along with it. He was a narcissist who couldn't seem to stop talking about himself. The two guys smiled at Alba and he smiled back at them. Arlo waved at the crowd and they started singing the lyrics to his song;

"Not even the stars can compare to the beauty that lies in her eyes',

'Tonight I am gonna hold her..." the crowd was synchronizing the song cheerfully.

Arlo gestured his hands at them, for them to stop. The whole crowd gathered around him with one thing or the other for him to autograph. Although he was happy with the attention he was getting he was also gloomy. He wanted to hang out with Alba and his friend. He yelled at them from the middle of the crowd;

"Axel! Dude... come on wait for me." Alba wagged his head and walked away into the bar with Axel walking behind him. They were ushered into the VIP upper-class section of the bar, by the prettiest waitresses working there. As they made themselves comfortable, a tall pretty slender lady walked up to them and sat on Alba's legs comfortably. She was wearing a black short off-shoulder dress. Her lips were painted dark red making her look very hot and sexy;

"Took you guys long enough to get here," she said with a smile and Axel answered her without wasting time cheerfully.

"What are you doing here Princess Althea?"

"Why? You are not happy to see me?" she asked looking a bit disappointed.

"Sure I am" he answered excitedly

"Well, I am not!" Alba answered grumpily. She smiled at him and waged her head. Knowing fully well, that Alba was not one to be easily impressed. He was too aloof, dense, and distant. She had accepted that fact about him a long time ago, but she was still head over heels for him. Unfortunately, no matter what she did to get his attention, it never worked.

"Will you get off my laps already...for goodness sake, you are not a kid anymore" Axel and Althea laughed at his grumpiness.

"Well, you can come sit on mine if you want..." Axel offered. She rolled her eyes at him and went on to sit on a different seat.

"Perv! You are always trying to hit on me."

While Axel and Althea were involved in a chit-chat, Alba looked around for some sort of excitement to get his head over the inconsistency of his workers and his thoughts of Mahina, the sweet simple girl he met earlier.

After a while, his eyes caught an actress, who was a friend of his. He stood up and went after her. Althea was disappointed at herself for not being the kind of girl he likes, and she was disappointed at him for not ever looking her way for once. She carried the whole bottle of vodka that was on the table and gulped it down at intervals, annoyed, while she looked at Alba and the girl he was flirting with. Axel tried to stop her but she wouldn't listen to him.

"Althea stop it!" Axel yelled at her.

"What is wrong with you? Can't you see?"

"What!" she yelled back at Axel.

"That Alba loves you but not the way you want him to love you. He sees you as his little sister. Sometimes as a daughter even because he practically took care of you since you were little… so stop it please"

"Axel grabbed the glass from her hands and dropped it on the table."

He embraced her warmly as she sobbed sadly.

"Do you think he will ever learn to love me like I love him?... because I don't think I can ever love another if not him…"
