I'm a dumb***!

Grant began scrolling through the notifications that he had received but due to the sheer number, he realized that it was going to be a somewhat annoying task to find the one that he was looking for, so he decided that it would be more worthwhile to finish the fight before continuing.

He closed the notification list and continued the fight.

At this point, other than the large ant's that had been standing around Anthony, there were less than a hundred mindless drones still running around.

In a bid to be more efficient and end the fight as quickly as possible, Grant decided to just bait them all into a large group and use successive Tectonic Slams to end them quickly.

As he began to round up the group however, the larger ants in the background suddenly moved and disappeared one after the other, in the same way that Anthony had done.

Allowing his curiosity to get the better of him, Grant dashed towards the location where they had left, but before he could even reach halfway there, the ground shook violently before a plume of dusk and dirt kicked up into the air in front of him.

Grant came skidding to a halt and coughed a few times to clear the dust from his mouth and airways.

{It would appear that they do not want you to follow them.

They must have destroyed the tunnel that they had used to get here.}

[Makes sense.

Unless they've build branching tunnels, it would be far too easy to locate their base of operations.

What alarms me more than anything is that if they had just opened up the tunnel inside the camp, then everyone in it would already be dead..]

{Well well well, look who is finally asking the right questions.

It's probably not as complicated as you think it is though.}

[Why do you say that?]

{The creatures of that planet, Gelvaemia, are known for one thing and one thing only, death by numbers.

They neither plan nor strategize to obtain victory, they simply overwhelm any obstacle in front of them with an overwhelming amount of power, or in this case, quantity.

Honestly, they are a lot like you, I'd say.}

[Quantity over quality, eh?

Wait...

Did you just compare me to an ant?!]

{An oversized one, if that makes it any better.}

[I'd be mad if Anthony wasn't such a cool Ant, I wouldn't mind being like him in some ways..

Hold up, pause, if you knew what he was and where he came from, then you knew those were summoned monsters the entire time?]

{I had my suspicions but I wasn't 100% sure until he said it himself.

Besides, would you have let them invade the camp if you knew they were summoned monsters and wouldn't provide experience?}

[Okay, you got me there. Still, give me a heads up next time!]

{As I have said before, and will now mention for what seems like the tenth time. I am here to answer questions and guide you during particular situations and encounters.

I am not meant to make your Path too easy.}

[Yeah yeah. Fine. Enough chit chat though, Lets get rid of these last few mindless drones.]

After ten minutes and a few Tectonic Slams, the rest of the mindless drones were finally dispatched.

When the threat to the safety of the camp and his own life disappeared, so too did the adrenaline that had kept Grant's mind distracted for so long.

As the adrenaline faded, a tidal wave of exhaustion assaulted both his body and mind, causing him to collapse onto the ground.

[Holy shit I'm exhausted. What the heck is my stamina at?!]

{Stamina: 78}

[Well shit, thank god Anthony and his big pals ran away.. I would have had to pump some of my other stats into stamina just to keep myself going...]

While sitting on the ground doing his best to collect himself, Grant could still hear the sound of fighting coming from inside the camp.

Since Ethan, Zach, and all the other people had come to assist him of their own accord and willingly put their lives on the line, Grant forced himself up to his feet.

Once on his feet, he quickly headed towards the wall. Due to his exhaustion, rather than jump over it as he had done before, he simply punched a large hole which he used to pass through.

When Grant appeared on the other side of the wall, he quickly observed the situation.

Unlike Grant who had pulverized a lot of the ants and their corpses into oblivion using Tectonic Slam, inside the wall their were ant corpses scattered everywhere.

He realized that far more ants had broken into the camp than he had initially thought.

A short distance away from where Grant had broken through the wall, Ethan was fighting against a dozen or so ants.

Ethan was struggling to keep the ants at bay while bleeding profusely from a wound on his shoulder that appeared to be from the mandibles of a spider.

Not delaying any longer, Grant ran over to where Ethan was fighting and quickly dispatched the rest of the ants.

Even after killing the ants, Ethan continued to maintain a combat stance as if he was going to strike out at anything that came too close.

And sure enough, as Grant approached him to check on his condition, Ethan swung God's Love down at him in an attempt to wound or worse.

Although Ethan was strong, Grant was far stronger, so he easily dodged the attack.

{He appears to be fighting subconsciously. I doubt that he even realizes that it is you standing in front of him.

Based on his wound, I would say he has lost a lot of blood and is probably on the brink of death.

Frankly, it's amazing that he is still standing there.}

Knowing that what Sherlock said was probably true, Grant dashed behind Ethan and struck him in the temple to knock him unconscious.

As Ethan collapsed, Grant made sure to catch him before he slowly lowered him onto the ground.

Grant quickly rummaged through his rucksack that Ethan had been carrying, looking for anything that would be useful.

[I know I shouldn't say this, but I really wish I hadn't used the Recovery Potion earlier!]

After digging for a few seconds, Grant came across the only remaining thing that could help in this situation.

{General Good: Medical Kit

Name: The Mad Doctors Medical Kit

Grade: Rare

Contains 50 feet of medical grade sutures and an extremely sharp needle to allow for the user to perform emergency medical work on themselves or others. The needle will numb the skin as it passes through to prevent pain.

Contains medical wraps that will reduce the pain experienced by the users wounds.

Stored inside a basic wooden box.}

Quickly removing the medical kit from his bag and opening it up, Grant removed the bandages from within before quickly wrapping them around Ethan's open wounds.

Although it was crude and inefficient in its execution, it managed to stall the bleeding ever so slightly.

Unfortunately for Grant, and Ethan for that matter, Grant could tell that Ethan's pulse was now gradually becoming weaker and thready.

[Shit shit shit! Sherlock, ideas, now!]

Seeing what he was looking for, Grant didn't allow the system to continue and directly chose Major Recovery Potion.

Although his credits were valuable, he had been neglecting them and was managing just fine without having used them, so he figured it would be best for Ethan if he bought the strongest Potion available.

And just as the system had said, the potion appeared just like any other item would from a Random Roll, with a bright flash of light that gradually morphed into the shape of the item.

A brief moment after the light appeared, a large bottle fell into Grant's outstretched hands.

{Potion: Recovery Potion

Name: Major Recovery Potion

Grade: Low

Allows the user to recover 500 health instantly. Will allow all major injuries to be healed instantly. Will not regrow lost limbs, but may be used to facilitate a re-connection of limbs}

After glancing at the notification, Grant quickly pulled the stopper out of the potion and prepared to have Ethan drink it, only to realize, that he had just knocked him unconscious and it was likely that Ethan would just spit it back out if he tried to force it down his throat.

Recalling what he had seen in anime and movies, Grant silently looked back and forth between the bottle and Ethan's lips.
