Never Satisfied

As if trying to build suspense for the topic or something, Couzar's helmet suddenly appeared out of nowhere followed by Couzar casually flipping it over in his boney hands while observing it with rapt attention.

When Grant was finally get impatient and about to burst out with frustration, Couzar finally spoke.

"Nothing happened back at the dungeon aside from me crossing over from my planet to yours. Frankly, that's the most exciting thing that's happened there since you left.

At least that's what I was told."

For some reason Grant had the feeling that Couzar was trying to look smug because his facial bones twitched ever so slightly when he was saying the final part.

"As to why I am here. It's actually nothing too extravagant, your lady friend is training with Skit and her kids and I had nothing better to do in that area, so Skit asked me to come out here to see if you needed any help."

Not really finding any value in what Couzar was saying, Grant basically ignored all of it except for the part that his "lady friend" was training with Skit and "her kids". Which meant that Ally had actually decided to join in the fight, and that was more important than anything to Grant.

Now he just had to pray that Skit kept her safe while they were training and by the time he got back, she would be strong enough to take out hunting with him as well.

"Okay, I guess it makes sense why you are here at this camp. You mentioned my lady friend and her kids, are you talking about Ally, Robin, and Richard?"

"I believe that was their names, yes. I'm not sure, I wasn't really paying attention if I'm being honest with you. Bahaha"

[Well, at least it sounds like they are making progress on their ends. That's all that matters.]

"I guess the next question logical question is; why are you here on this planet?"

"Well, my brother sent word that he had found a promising planet that we could harvest mana cores from as well as the fact that he had established a deal with a local member of the indigenous race.

So my father, our king, sent me over to ensure a return on our investment.

Which reminds me, Skit did mention that you had a replica of our father's weapon but I found it doubtful. Now that I see it in person though, it's actually quite fascinating.

Would you mind if I take a look at it?"

Since he had no reason to refuse, Grant removed the Sword of the One True King from his back and handed it over to Couzar.

"I guess you're not a smart as you look.

Did you really just hand your weapon over to someone who claims to be a friend without any proof?

It's a wonder you're still alive with that level of intelligence."

{I agree with him in case you're wondering.}

[Shut it Sherlock!]

"I have a good relationship with Skit; anyone related to him is most likely a trustworthy person as well, so I put my faith in that."

"Naive."

[ARGHHHH This guy is infuriating!!!]

Grant did his best to keep his emotions under control but was struggling the longer the conversation dragged on.

After inspecting the sword for a few minutes, despite his mocking, Couzar safely returned the blade to Grant's hands.

"I've never held the real version, since my father doesn't hand his weapon over to anyone who asks, so I can't say for sure, but I would bet that that sword is probably one tenth as powerful as the real thing."

[I really really want to punch this guy in the face... skull? Doesn't matter, he's more annoying that you can be on occasions Sherlock!]

While venting his frustrations internally, Grant had a hard imagining that his weapon was only a tenth as powerful as the original version, but it would also make sense since his weapon was merely a knockoff.

{Weapon: Great Sword

Name: Sword of the One True King

Grade: Semi-Legendary

The ability to pierce enemies is based upon the wielders Strength and Agility.

Strength + 95 and Agility + 50

Extra Skill: Devour

Devours the Soul of a recently slain enemy. Enemy must have been slain by Sword of the One True King.

Requires no mana to activate.

Can be upgraded to legendary with Devoured Souls (12,369/1,000,000)}

It didn't matter to Grant though that the sword was not as powerful as the original because it was more than enough for him at the current time.

Trying to get back on track, Grant continued to question Couzar.

"Alright, well now that you're here, what are you going to do? We weren't planning on leaving for a at least 5 more days so other than train the people who volunteered to join the fight, their isn't much going on."

"Bahaha what are you saying?! Didn't you fight someone from Gelvaemia recently?"

"How did you know?"

"I wonder if I was ever as clueless as you are now... isn't it obvious? Those mindless drone ants that were scattered outside the camp can only be summoned by ants from Gelvaemia.

They are troublesome opponents because of the way they fight, but its also the reason I enjoy fighting them so much!

So I'll go hunting for your ant friend and see if I can't take him out!"

"You're kind of rude, aren't you?

And if you could manage to kill Anthony, I would be grateful. He has already threatened us with another invasion when he disappeared."

"Bahaha, you misinterpret my honesty for rudeness. That is your fault, not mine. Grow a spine my young human friend! Bahaha.

And it is unlikely that I kill this Anthony you speak of, but I will certainly give it a shot! Gelvaemia's are really adept at running away from a losing fight though, so it's unlikely I achieve that goal without at least some help!"

Knowing that he would never win an argument with someone so clearly out of their minds, Grant decided to swallow his pride and ignore the insults the best he could.

"Well, I can't help you because I have to help the people of this camp level up so you'll just have to go enjoy a fun fight on your own.

Before we adjourn this little meeting though, can I ask you a question?"

"Have you not already asked me many questions? What is one more?"

Knowing he embarrassed himself yet again, Grant coughed a few times before finally asking, "Can you use the portal skill that Skit uses?"

"I can."

Grant was overcome with joy at the fact that he wouldn't have to walk from CRMC to the dungeon with all of these people in tow but his hope was shattered as quickly as it had appeared.

"But I will not use it for you."

"What, why not? Skit was more than happy to help."

"Let me ask you a question, human. How does using a portal generated by someone from another race help you?"

Grant was confused by the question, the answer seemed rather obvious to him, "It makes things easier."

As if that was the answer he was looking for, Couzar smacked the table with his bony hand before laughing at Grant's expense once again.

"Bahaha exactly! If things are easy, people become complacent, and when people become complacent, people die!

Whether you want to admit it or not, you and your planet are already at war human! It is time for you and yours to stand up and earn your place!"

Although his words may be true, to some degree, Grant was still frustrated by the final statement.

"Earth is our place! It's been ours for thousands of years now!"

Couzar suddenly turned deadly serious before releasing an even more powerful pressure than he had earlier.

In a voice that seemed to rise from the depths of hell, Couzar said, "It WAS yours human. If I wanted too, I could take everything you have with a swipe of my hammer.

You have earned NOTHING yet. You have simply survived! Do not flatter yourself with your pitiful existence in this pathetic hole you call a camp.

I can sense at least four different races from four different planets in less than a hundred miles from here.

Any one of their planets could wipe you from the face of this pathetic planet in a heartbeat.

You have become far too complacent with what you have achieved.

Strength is not given, it is earned and it is not earned in a day, it is earned over a lifetime.

You should NEVER be satisfied and should ALWAYS be seeking to reach greater heights.

I would expect a leader to understand that much. At least a good leader would."
