19: Another Day

"You're in the 10th Spirit Refinement already?!"

"Yup, I mean, I was pretty close to reaching it anyways," Wen casually responded.

"No no, you don't understand, you passed to the 9th stage 3 days ago, then, in just one day, you got to the 10th Spirit Refinement Stage!" Talen nearly yelled.

"Well, I cultivated for the whole day yesterday. And two days ago, I was only getting the hang of my Cultivation Technique so that kind of slowed me down." Wen shrugged it off as if it was nothing.

"So that means one day for each stage! At this pace, you'll get to the Golden Stage in a day or two!" Talent at this point didn't know to be surprised or happy that Wen was almost at the Golden Stage.

"Yup, I'm looking pretty forward to the exam I'll be taking," Wen stood up from the bench he was sitting on and stretched his body. "How was it though, the exam to be an inner court disciple?"

Talen blanky blinked a few times, thinking about how long it took him to get to the Golden Core Stage. "T-the thing, er, the exams qualification are that you have to be in the Golden Core and you'll have to duel someone again, to test your knowledge of the sword."

"Oh goody, I'll have to practice more than," Wen happily decided, "How about we spar? It has been 3 days since we last sparred, I'll promise not to use any skills against you,"

Talen flashbacked to the short frame of time he and Wen sparred. It was a completely one-sided battle. However, Wen did use a skill while Talen did not, would things start to change at that point? Talen considered this and nodded, "Alright, we'll duel right here, on the training grounds,"

Wen nodded happily, "Choose a weapon, I'll be using my rapier, just like last time,"

Talen nodded, "I'll use my broadsword,"

*\

After getting ready, Wen and Talen walked inside a small space. A few meters away from the space they'd be fighting in were a couple of chairs made of wood, for the spectators.

Talen lifted his sword, "You ready?"

"Yup. If one of us surrenders then instantly scoot back and drop your sword or yell that you surrender,"

"Alright, I'll countdown. 5... 4.... 3..... 2.... 1..."

-CliiIANG! (Imagine the fight as if you are behind Wen)

Their swords impacted but Talen quickly released from the hold and scooted away. Wen slowly stepped forwards as Talen prepared. Talen quickly sliced down at Wen's head which Wen quickly responded by raising his sword and spinning to the right(from Wen's side).

-Clang!

Talen stopped and waited for Wen to attack. Wen ran towards him and swung his sword horizontally. Talen, without any hesitation, swung his sword at the incoming swing(from down to up) A few seconds later he swung his sword down on Wen's shoulder. Wen quickly raised his sword and tried to block the strike but Talen's strength was surprisingly greater.

-Cllliiinn

The sword scraped away from Wen's shoulder, although it impacted, no blood was drawn out.

"You're a body cultivator too?" Talen asked, not yet breathless or surprised.

Wen swept his shoulder, "Yup, I body cultivate a little,"

"That makes me feel better, in case I hit you,"

Talen rushed forwards and Wen raised his sword.

-CLANG

Wen struggled a bit. Last time he had won because they underestimated him and because he had his sword skill. This time, Talen would do no such thing while Wen also promised him not to use any skills.

-CLANG!... CLANG!

-CLANG!.... CLLLIIII.....CLANG

The various sword strikes colliding were heard coming from the training room for the next 20 minutes, attracting several disciples.

Talen and Wen were both panting and sweating on the ground, out of breath. They had lasted for 20 minutes because this wasn't a real duel or fight. It was only a small practice session.

"Huff...Nice job... Talen..."

"You-you too, you sure have a lot of stamina,"

"Huff, what can you say? I'm a body cultivator too," Wen started cultivating his Ice Dragon's cultivation technique to cool himself down. Slowly, all his sweat stopped and Wen was feeling refreshed.

"How, how did you do that?" Talen asked after seeing Wen stop sweating only after a few seconds. "T-the sun is so hot,"

Wen shrugged, "A body cultivation technique of mine that I found,"

"Wow, it-it must be a strong one,"

Wen didn't nod. "Well, I'll get going then," Wen stood up and casually left, leaving a dozen of disciples and Talen in wonder.

"Why the heck do you always leave so abruptly?" Talen asked to no one.

*\

"Haha, it's only the morning but it feels as if the days are almost over. I guess today was just another random day." Wen sat down on his bed in a lotus position and started cultivating using the 3 Spirit's Spirit Cultivation.

"...."

"System, when will I finally regain my memories? It's almost been a month now," Wen suddenly asked.

< Would you like to see the completion of 'Full Memory Regain,'?>

"Sigh, I'm not surprised such a thing exists but you didn't tell me... Of course, show me,"

< Estimated Current Completion: 26%

Chance Estimated for Full Completion: 50%>

"26 percent and the other exactly 50 percent? That's a bit too coincidental, is there a reason for that? System?"

< Your soul also keeps your memories. When half of your soul separated, your soul also took some memories. BUT because your brain also keeps your memories, there is a chance you will regain your memories without having to reconnect your soul into one. >

"Oh, that kinda makes sense. It's at 26 percent right now, it seems that I'll probably regain my memories,"

(A/N: He only regained half his memories in the beginning, things that weren't specific. If he regains these memories, he'll remember more specific things, like how to use a sword better.)
