[ His first kill is kinda bloody, so... take care if you're sensitive. ]
"Wow, I really can't believe, 10 thousand system points per kill? At that point, I could buy Sword mastery boosts like, 2 times!" Wen happily left the Training Grounds, excited for the future possibilities.
[ A few hours later... ]
The cloudy dark night was dimly illuminated by the dim silver moonlight as clouds had blocked it. The blanket of stars that reached infinity seemed dimmer under the light clouds.
Wen sat down in front of the building his room was located in. Disciples were still allowed to shop, train, and visit each other even at this time, as long as they don't cause a ruckus or uninvitedly go to another disciple's room. Wen decided to use those rules to his advantage.
After Wen got comfortable sitting on the ground, a scroll appeared in his hands, coming out from the space ring. "So, starting from the top, we got..."
[1: Devin Cinders
*Picture of the target* Description: A red hair, tall, skinny, freckled, ugly.
Reason: A arrogant spoiled brat who killed dozens of 'lowly' commoners just because he got mad.
Background: His family is a middle-ranked family in the Sun Empire, no real aftershocks if he is killed.
Cultivation: 9th Spirit Refinement Stage.
Age: 19
Outer Disciple, Room #403, 4th building, boys division ]
The list was randomized. If you were first, it didn't matter. If you were last, it also didn't matter, you were going to get killed anyway.
"This guy deserves to be killed," Wen finally justified. Wen didn't want his first kill to be an innocent person so this guy was going to be his first.
Each building hosts two hundred disciples. Wen's building is the 4th Building. It holds rooms 400 all the way to 499. The reason it held 200 disciples was that most of them have roommates, unlike Wen. This also means that Devin's room is also in Wen's building.
Wen made his way past many doors. '417... 415.... 410.... 407.... and finally, room 403, prepare to meet your end, spoiled brat' Wen inwardly thought. 'No security? Wow, they must really trust one another, perhaps nothing like this has ever happened before?"
Wen's broadsword appeared as he stood in front of the door. 'There's no way to get in so I guess I should use pure strength.
[ Strike of light! ]
[ Strike of light! ]
-Boom! Boom! CRACK!
The door broke into smithereens as Wen used his sword skill.
"W-who's there!" A terrified voice yelled in the darkroom. After quickly identifying the speaker, Wen ran towards the terrified speaker as he activated another sword skill.
[ True sword's speed! ]
-Shnk! Shing! Shing! Shank! CracK! CrAcK!
"AAUURRGH!" The voice screamed in pain.
Wen's speed more than tripled after using his sword skill and without hesitation, he swung his sword down at the screaming head.
-Plop! roll...
Blood gushed out of the body as the terrifying disembodied head started rolling around the room, creeping Wen out.
"WHAT HAPPENED!?" another voice yelled. But Devin's roommate was too late, as Wen had already rushed out of the room. "What the hell!" The roommate yelled and soon fainted after seeing the disembodied head of his roommate rolling around the room.
Although it seemed like nothing, Wen's heartbeat was abnormally fast while and after returning to his room.
"Hah... no surprise, that was my first kill after all." Wen paused for a bit and lies down on his bed. "Do I feel any regret? Maybe for his family but for him? No, he fully deserved it."
< Feeling regret or pain after your first kill is obviously normal. His family may not have deserved his death but they did raise him that way so, Devin, your first target, differently did, so, no need to feel regret. >
"Yeah, I guess he did deserve it, but, father's report better be right..."
Wen decided not to leave his room to kill another disciple because one kill a night was enough. It was also because if he wasn't seen in his room when called, then he would undoubtedly become a suspect.
* * *
Throughout the night Wen heard various shouting, knocks, and bangings all around his building, everyone was panicking about the beheaded disciple.
At last, a knock was heard on Wen's door. Wen was awake the whole time cultivating his body so he heard it instantly. But instead of answering immediately, he waited for a few seconds.
-Knock Knock!
-Knock!
"Hey! Open up your door!"
-Bang! BANG!
"Oy! Open your door!" A disciple yelled.
Wen stood up from his bed and started acting tired and sleepy.
"Hey, kid, if you don't take your mask any time soon then you'll become suspected," A disciple warned him.
Wen looked confused. His mask only covered half of his face, so why act as if it covered his full face? "Morning seniors? May I ask what you are here for?"
In front of Wen's door were two disciples, both wearing green sashes on their waists, meaning they were both inner disciples. One of them, who was a head taller than Wen had black hair while the other was the same size as Wen, but had blonde hair. The blonde carried a scroll, brush, and ink on top of a book, he was most likely taking tabs on things.
"You may or may not have known but a disciple was killed a few hours ago. We're here to ask where you were this night," The blonde asked.
"What!? Who got killed? I was body cultivating all night!" Wen made a surprised expression but soon realized they wouldn't be able to see it because he was wearing a mask.
"Devin Cinders was killed in room 403. To prove your innocence, you'll need an alibi,"
Wen inwardly smiled. Because he already knew he needed an alibi, he had already planned things out. "Although I don't have an alibi to prove my innocence, all I can say is that I'm a new disciple here and don't even know who you said was killed!"
The black-haired frowned, "Do you have someone that will say that you are innocent? At least someone who can confirm that you are new and you don't know Devin,"
Wen hastily nodded, "I do, and like you seniors, my friend is also an inner disciple, his name is Talen,"
The blonde boy quickly wrote things down on his scroll and nodded to his peer. "Alright kid, and your name?"
"Shen Seers, from the Sun Empire,"
The seniors both nodded and the black-haired spoke, "Alright, thank you for your cooperation, we'll be back soon to confirm your words,"
Both seniors quickly nodded and left Wen's area. When Wen was alone he smiled to himself. 'Everything went according to plan, 52 more disciples to kill,'
