Vision 7 - What is this? (5)

It was absurd. How could someone like this exist? I had never known about him. But how could I not?

Inside the holding cell, a boy roughly my height sat on the bed, his head bowed, staring at his own feet. He wore long sleeves attached to the back of his clothes.

He looked like a psychopathic criminal sitting in a cell, head down—but his details said otherwise.

What the hell is up with his skills and stats? All his stats are already above a hundred. Most important figures I knew had stats that high, but reaching that level without a blessing wasn't easy.

He is definitely a scam character. He looks around my age, but he is way older. With stats totaling over four hundred, it was obvious.

How had anyone managed to capture him? That was my question.

His current hypnotic state explained his weird condition. Someone like him could be dangerous to his captors.

He might become someone great in the future. Since I didn't know anyone like him, that meant he'd probably die in this facility someday.

"Why are you looking at him so intensely?"

I'd been staring too long, and Persephone called me out.

I used the chatbox.

-This person is strong.

"Hmm? This person? Then isn't it better to leave him here? Or do you want a soldier?"

could leave him. If he lives, he might cause problems later. And as a soldier? No way. I don't want someone this scary around me while I amstill weak. Besides, why would he work under me? But—

-I want neither of those, but he'll be useful.

In almost three years, an overload would come, and the world would change. At that time, people like him would be needed—someone who could fight 'Scripts' and wasn't a sociopath.

He is perfect.

I need more like him to exist so I wouldn't have to fight Employees and Nubeculas myself.

I took out some items from the storage ring I'd gotten from the vault. I'd already stolen all the Church's wealth—already altering the future—and now I am creating chaos too.

This might cause changes, but it had to be done. If I didn't use what I knew to my advantage, what was the point of knowing it?

[ Item: Super-grade bomb. ]

+

[ Item: Attack hammer. ]

I took out several normal-grade bombs. If I am going to release him, I might as well go all out. The super-grade bomb is two levels above normal—for my escape—and the attack hammer is a buff item.

[ Some Nubeculas are curious about what you're going to do. ]

+

Nubeculas were getting curious. Watching someone blow up a facility he'd just stolen must be great entertainment. For an audience that loves spectacles, this is going to be tasty content.

I picked up a normal-grade bomb and moved toward the cells, attaching one to each glass wall. The people inside watched me, their gazes shifting.

They'd probably been here for years, spending every night and day hoping for rescue—but no one came. They'd lost hope. They didn't even realize what I was doing.

After placing all the bombs, I used Persephone's flight skill to attach the super-grade bomb to the ceiling of the holding cell, setting it to laser mode.

Then I returned to the scam character's cell—Ducas. I picked up the hammer and activated its effect.

-Share strength stats with me.

I also had Persephone share her strength stats. With Zoe's heart, I didn't have to worry about fatigue anymore, making this much easier.

+

[ The Benefit of the Soul Contract has been used. ]

[ The high existence 'Persephone' has shared her stats with you. ]

+

Honestly, I often thought these messages didn't need to be so long. If I controlled the system, I'd shorten them. Maybe I should talk to the Employees about it.

With this, my stats skyrocketed. I only needed strength, anyway.

+

[ Strength Lvl.19 → Lvl.61 ]

[ Difference in stats is too high. A time limit has been placed. ]

[ Time: 9 minutes. ]

+

Strength Lvl.61. Higher than before. Zoe's heart must've improved my tolerance. Still, I felt some strain on my body.

+

[ The Exclusive Skill 'False Awakening' has nullified the strain on your mentality. ]

+

Now I am ready. I felt amazing—Zoe's heart handled the physical strain, and False Awakening took care of the mental stress. I clenched the hammer tightly.

Energy surged through me. I lifted the hammer and swung hard.

*BANG!*

The hammer struck the glass wall. The impact reverberated, but no scratch appeared. It was tougher than I'd thought—but then, it was holding someone with stats over four hundred.

I swung again. And again.

*BANG!...* *BANG!...* *BANG!...* *BANG!...*

By now, the prisoners realized what I was doing. They pressed against their glass walls, banging silently—the cells must've been soundproof. I couldn't hear them, but their desperation was clear. I struck harder.

*BANG!!...*

Scratches formed, then cracks, spider-webbing across the glass.

One last hit. I poured all my strength into the hammer.

*BANG!...*

*Tinkle...* *Tinkle...*

The glass shattered, collapsing to the floor in pieces.

I looked toward the people. They were looking at me. I saw hope in their eyes.

"Stay back. I attached a bomb to the glass walls."

People stopped banging as soon as they heard my voice, and then their eyes went toward the bombs attached to the glass walls of their cells. All of them paled and moved away from the walls. I walked inside the cell I just broke.

I went in and stood in front of the person sitting with his head down. I lifted his head. The person looked quite handsome. He had silver hair, but his eyes were hazy.

I picked him up over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes. Then I activated the normal-grade bombs.

*Boom. Smash. Boom. Smash. Boom. Smash.*

Several explosions and the sound of breaking glass echoed through the facility. People were coming out of their cells. Some had tears, some wore smiles.

"I am free."

"Am I really out?"

"I can get out of this place."

"Thank you. Thank you, god."

I ignored the people chanting gibberish. They had hopeful expressions, but now I needed to get out of this place.

He better have given me that. If it wasn't for him, I would have just ignored the whole place.

"Hey. You're the one who saved us, thank you."

A woman came to me with tears in her eyes. Others heard her and looked at me as well. I waved my hand and went inside the cell again to take cover.

"Go inside for now."

"What?"

They might not have understood me, but it wasn't my concern. I didn't save them out of the goodness of my heart. As soon as I went inside, I activated the super-grade bomb.

*Rumble...*

"What is happening?"

"Go inside a cell now!"

The facility started to shake. The woman realized something and told others to take cover inside the cells.

The bomb started to act up. It shone brightly and then shot a laser toward the sky. It was even more visible at night. I think some people must have seen it from outside, but most were sleeping and would only know about it tomorrow morning.

The laser shot upward, and after a few seconds the brightness dimmed before the device fell to the ground, now useless. I went out and could see the sky above through the hole in the roof.

Beep... Beeep... Beeeppp...

The security alarms went off. The whole place was now lit with red emergency lights flashing wildly.

+

[The shared skill 'Flight' has been used.]

[The Active Skill 'Flight Lvl 1' is activated.]

+

I used the flight skill and floated above the ground, Ducas still over my shoulder and Persephone floating beside me. I was about to fly through the hole when someone shouted.

"Hey! You!"

I turned in midair. An old man started shouting at me.

"Where are you going, mask man?! You made a mess of this place, and now you're leaving?! Save us too!"

What was this man complaining about? Isn't it different from how things should be? Instead of thanking me, they were making demands.

"Yeah! Save us too!"

"Please take us with you."

"Save us!"

[The Nubecula 'Who Likes Cigars And Candy' scoffs.]

[The Nubecula 'Hwang Jini' is disappointed with people here.]

+

Others joined in. It was annoying. I don't care what they want. I looked down at them, imagining them as insignificant ants.

'How should I reply?'

I caught myself thinking that and pushed the thought away. Why hesitate? I should just say what I think.

"Who do you think you all are? I'm not here to save anyone."

I spoke coldly. This wasn't some hero moment. I am weaker than every person here. I just believe that I have no reason to help anyone here.

"You're all powerful yourselves and now you're free. There's no one in the facility right now. Use your own capability or help each other. I don't care."

"What?"

"Hey, come back!"

I ignored their shouts and flew through the hole in the roof. With alarms blaring, I needed to leave immediately.

The Nubeculas had mixed reactions, but the points were decent. As for the people in the facility, they'd manage to escape. Only a few guards would arrive in such a short time.

I flew toward Bob's house and landed in a nearby park. After setting Ducas on a bench, I removed my coat and mask, storing them in the ring. Being seen like that now would cause problems.

I took out a hypnotic-releasing tonic from the church's supplies.

+

[Item: Mesmerism-Untie Tonic.]

+

Fancy name. I placed the bottle to his lips, and after the first drop, he began drinking it on his own.

+

[Mesmerism-Untie has been used. Target has been released from hypnosis.]

The item worked. As his eyes focused, he stood up and started looking around like a confused idiot.

"What?"

"Where am I?"

"What happened?"

He was asking too many questions. My head started to hurt.

"Those people—"

"Where is this place?"

*ssssssat*

The sound cut through his babbling. My palm had connected with his cheek.

'Don't judge me. It had to be done.'
