Chapter 5: Timeskip
[February 3rd, 2039]
[8:12 AM]
We see a young boy sleeping on his bed, a blanket covering his body. He had short black hair, and a cute face that you would want to pull on his cheeks. There was also a collar on his neck.
*BEEP**BEEP*
The sound of an alarm clock rang through the room. And the boy instantly wakes up excitedly. He jumped out of bed and out of the room. We see him going through a hallway and down the stairs.
He excitedly goes to a dining room and sees 3 people waiting for him.
"Happy Birthday my baby!" A young beautiful woman says to her child. She had long black hair, paired with a pale white face. Her dark black eyes looks at him tenderly, and a motherly aura emanating from her very presence. She also had a collar on her neck.
"Mama!" The boy yells out. As he goes to hug his mother. The woman just lets out a gentle smile and hugs him back.
The other person just chuckles at the scene. "Happy birthday kiddo." The person says in a deep voice. He was a young handsome man with black hair and deep black eyes that could scare anyone, but despite that he looked at the child gently. He too had a collar on his neck
"Papa!" The boy gets out of the woman's embrace and goes to the man. He tackles him in a hug and the man holds him high.
The boy laughs loudly and just has fun, thinking about his life in this world for the past few years.
"Come on." The man says. "Let's eat before we head out"
The boy nods and takes a seat on the table, he sees the food in front of him and immediately starts eating.

[Eric POV]
It's been several years since I've been reincarnated and it was the best years of my life, well I don't remember some of my memories, but still.
My mother's name is Stella Nakamura or Nakamura Stella, she was a half Filipina, half Japanese woman, who once lived in the Philippines in the standard dimension, but moved when she met dad in a duel monster tournament.
My father is Nakamura Jun, he is a full Japanese man who came from the XYZ dimension after it was rebuilt.
They fell in love and it went smoothly, because as you can see I am here.
Anyway, when I was first reincarnated I thought it was just in a regular yu-gi-oh world, but I was wrong! Apparently I'm in a crossover of some anime that I know. I'm not really sure how many there are, but things that I know are Sword Art Online, Accel World, Vrians, and Arc-V.
I was really surprised when I got to know it.
Apparently, in 2014 was the events of Arc-v and ever since then the world's technology was getting more developed. In 2021, it was supposed to be the year of new change, nerve gear was announced and every duelist was excited.
A virtual world where you can experience anything from fantasy? A world where you can see your friends and family? What's more is that it's connected to the other dimensions! It was very exciting, until 2022 that is. Players got stuck in the game Sword Art Online. Instead of a duel disk, they were stuck with swords. And if they die in the game, they die in real life. In 2024, only 6000 players were released, because a player named Kirito defeated Kayaba Akihiko. Thus, releasing the remaining players.
In the next year, the Seed was released, It was a free, preset series of program packages that can be used for creating Virtual Reality (VR) worlds as well as control the input and output of the five senses of the players, allowing players to FullDive into the created world. It was released and people started creating new VR worlds. People started developing VR worlds more.
In the year 2026, a highly-advanced augmented reality console known as the Augma entered the market as an alternative to the most widely used virtual reality console, the AmuSphere. With the introduction of Ordinal Scale (OS), the first Augmented Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (ARMMORPG) for the Augma, the new console quickly became popular.
In 2029, brain implant chips, BICs, appear on the market and are banned a few years later, and finally in the April of 2031, First generation of personal-use Neurolinkers appear on the market. In September of the same year the first Neurolinker models for infants appeared on the market.
In the next few years a cyberspace was created where duelists played using virtual cards. LINK VRAINS became a place where the top Duelists and Celebrity Duelists from every dimension went.
Link VRAINS, is the Cyberspace where duelists can take the form of an avatar and take part in Virtual Reality Duels. It is described as "a cyberspace constructed with the latest technology". A company called SOL Technologies was in charge of it.
A new summoning method was created where it changed the rules of the game, literally. Link Summoning, it had no levels and no defense points. It was colored blue like rituals, but with much more design. It has 9 arrows pointing to certain directions. Weirdest of all, it can't be put in the Main Monster Zone.
Well I already knew that, so I wasn't really surprised.
Because of this new method, a new zone was implemented in the master rules, the Extra Monster Zone. It's for every extra deck monster, players can only special summon monsters from the extra deck once unless you have a link monster that has a link arrow pointing to your monster zone, but after some rioting Fusion, Synchro, and XYZ were able to be summoned once again in the monster zones. Pendulum Summoned Monsters from face-up Extra Deck, and Link Monsters, must be Summoned to an Extra Monster Zone, or Main Monster Zones a Link Arrow points to. Because of these rules Pendulum became less popular, but it didn't stop people building powerful combos using both pendulum and links.
'I really did learn a lot using the internet.' I said as I gave myself a pat on the back. I look back at my parents with a smile on my face. Today was my 6th Birthday, Alexa said this would be the time I can talk to my duel Spirits. I looked at the food in front of me and began devouring it. This was also supposed to be the time I'll get my first deck. Apparently the youngest age a person can get a deck was at 6. But, I already had a plan on how to get my deck here without them being suspicious.
I planned to tell them that I found them while playing. Of course, they will have no choice, but believe me.
And believe me they did, one afternoon while I was playing in a park, I put my plan into motion.
[Flashback]
'Ok Alexa.' I thought to her. 'The Plan: 'Stupid child, free deck' is in motion.'
{That is still a stupid name Eric} Alexa retorts
'Shush, I know you like it.'
{What a stupid host} Alexa says with a sigh.
'Just give me my deck already' I thought to her, just wanting to get this over with too. I suddenly got a notification.

As the familiar ding ring through my mind, I found myself holding a deck of cards.
I quickly looked over it, and I saw my cards that I used in the lobby.

As I was in awe, because of the cards. I didn't notice 2 people come behind me.
"Hey"
I was abruptly woken up in my day dream and looked behind me to see both my parents standing there.
"Mama! Papa!" I shouted as I tackled them both in a hug, in which they accepted.
"How was your day?" My mom asks me.
"It was great" I started to give her details on what I did in kindergarten. As I was finishing up my story, I remembered my plan. "I also have duel monster cards!" This surprised my parents since they knew I shouldn't have that.
"Eric, where did you get them?" My father asks me
"Well a nice lady gave them to me." I said trying my best to look innocent, and technically Alexa did give it to me.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah. Look." I showed them the cards. "They look so cool."
My parents skimmed through the cards. And both looked at each other.
"Do you want to keep this?" My dad asks. "There are other cool cards you can have, or even make."
"No." I denied his offer. "These Cards are perfect."
"Well, ok then" my mom gave me a warm smile. "Now, let's go and celebrate you, getting your own deck"
And then we had Ice cream.
[Flashback End]
Speaking of Alexa. 'Alexa, when will they appear?' I think excitedly.
{Eric, you have to wait for a while.} Alexa tells me. {You should know this already, I told you this yesterday} Alexa says, reminding me of the conversation we had yesterday.
'I know, I was just excited.' I thought to her again.
{You're so troublesome Eric} Alexa says with a sigh.
'Aww… Isn't that why you love me so much?' I ask mischievously.
{N-no you idiot} Alexa stutters. {Now shut up and eat your food}
'Hehe. Ok.' I replied back to her as I continued eating. Years together with her made us closer to each other. We almost know everything about each other.
"We're going out later." My dad tells me as I eat.
I just nodded at him.
After a few minutes we were ready to go out.
"Oh, before we forget." My mom said as we were about to go out. "Happy birthday!" My mom and dad said at the same time as my mother gets a gift box wrapped in wrapping paper.
I was really excited to see what they were going to give me. I quickly grabbed it and opened it.
I ripped out the wrapping paper and I was amazed by the contents. It was a customizable duel disk that can be loaded with both physical and digital cards. It had card slots if I wanted to play with my physical cards and a hologram mode, which can make me play digital cards. "This is amazing!" I exclaim out loud.
My parents just smiled, while looking at me.
{The duel disk is 100% more proficient and more advanced than the current duel disk} Alexa says as she analyzes my new disk.
My current disk was my oldest one that was worn out. I couldn't do maintenance on it, because I lacked supplies and it would look suspicious for a 4 or 5 year old asking for tools. Now it even has a maintenance kit and instructions on how to use it and more features.
It was simply the best gift ever for a kid like me.
"Come on now." My dad says to me and gets me out of my thinking. "We have a very busy and fun day ahead of us."
"OK!" I put my disk on, and it didn't exactly fit perfectly in my hands. It was a little bigger than me, but it was awesome to have. Maybe in a few years it would fit me perfectly.

It was afternoon.
The sun was setting, the sky was orange turning darker and darker by each passing minute.
I was currently in the park after a fun day, my parents were on the bench resting, while I was in the playground just swinging on the swing set.
As I was about to finish up I heard a noise.
"Ahh!" Scream by a little kid in a hoodie.
There were 3 older looking boys bullying someone.
"HAHA!" The biggest one laughed. "Look at his scream. He sounds like a girly, hahahaha"
The other 2 just enjoyed their bullying.
Looking at this scene reminded me of my past life. It was one of the memories that I remembered.
[Flashback]
???- Your Worthless
???- Go die loser
???- Ha! Look at that loser
The people then leaves me alone.
[FLASHBACK END]
The memory of wanting to die, ending it all. Maybe I could get relief from just resting forever.
In the end I overcame it all.
So when I saw what was happening. I just got angry.
"HEY!" I yelled out loudly. "Stop picking on him!"
"Who is this loser?" The boy questions. "What're you gonna do? Cry to mommy? Wuaah" He taunts me. And his friends just laughs.
"How about a duel" This surprised him and everyone who was listening. "I win, you leave him alone"
"How about if I win?" He questions, he sees my duel disk and gives an evil smirk. "How about your duel disk, don't worry I'll let you keep your deck. A deck that will lose to me is useless"
At this point I am mad, super mad. I can feel my deck angry by his insult.
"Ok then" I agreed with him.
"Wai-wait-" The kid who was getting bullied tries to stop me.
"Game on Loser Boy" He interrupts the kid and taunts me again.
"DUEL DISK ON" me and my opponent shouts out as I put my deck in. I felt my deck connect to it, and I can see my vision of the surrounding lights up. The nuerolinker I was wearing was connected to my duel disk, and it automatically connected both of us to the duel network.
The duel network is the application made for dueling, and can be connected to other people surrounding us, who want to see people duel.
"DUEL" We both shout out again.
Eric: 4000; Hand: 5 Cards
Toki: 4000; Hand: 5 Cards
His name was Toki. I read the hologram.
[Network Chat:
LAbaF: What's this about?
TheLEgend: Well apparently, that Eric kid was trying to stop Toki from bullying. Well it turned out to be this.
LAbaF: Really? Well this is a duel between children, so I wouldn't expect much. A good pass time though.
Myra: Yeah you may be right. Let's just see what happens]
I saw the network chat, it was a feature for the nuerolinker. People will be able to see your duel real time and chat about it. And so far it just made me a little annoyed.
Anyway, we both drew 5 cards.
Drytron Fafnir, Drytron Gamma Eltanin, Ursarctic Mikpolar, Called by the Grave, Drytron Alpha Thuban
I looked at my card and felt as if they were staring back at me. As if the anger I felt was gone, as I looked at them.
'Alexa' I thought to her. 'What is this feeling?'
{That is your Duel Spirits host} she explained {They have awaken to assist you duel}
'COOL' I thought as I heard chuckling from my cards and I just blush.
"Winners go first." He proclaimed loudly, that knocked me out of my mind. He looks at his cards and smirks.
"First I use 'Reinforcement of the Army' to get 'Marauding Captain' to my hand." As he drew his card from the deck.
{Reinforcement of the Army; Spell Card: Add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. Then shuffle your Deck.}
"Now I summon 'Marauding Captain' in attack position" As an old knight with blonde hair and 2 swords appears on his field. "And with his effect I get to special summon another monster from my hand. And I choose another 'Marauding Captain'" As another copy of the knight appears.

"It's boss unbeatable play!" Exclaimed one of his friends.
"He won't be able to beat him now." the other one said.
"Hahaha" Toki just laughs loudly. "Better give up now, before you cry to mommy" he taunts me again. "Let me tell you his effect, as a final act of mercy" He tells me arrogantly. "When 'Marauding Captain' is on the field, you can't attack any warrior monster but him. With two of them on the field, you can't attack anything HAHAHA" he laughs. "But I'm not done yet! I use the Continuous Spell 'The A. Forces' which raises my warriors' attack rise up to 200 for each warrior monster I control. SInce I have 2 Warriors their attack raises upto 400 each" As both monsters glow blue and their attack rises. "Now, I end my turn" He smirks. "Go on to your turn so I can end it next time."

I ignored the comments.
"My Turn" I yelled out. "Draw" As I drew my card. I smirked at what I drew.
[3rd POV]
As they watched the duel between 2 kids. They were impressed by the combo that Toki did.
'It's my fault' A person thinks. 'If only I was strong enough, he wouldn't have done this' the kid thinks. The kid looks at 'his' savior Eric.
Eric just looked calm and composed, not even looking worried.
"My Turn" Eric yelled out. "Draw" As he drew a card. He just smirked, and the people watching were wondering what he drew.
"First, I activate the field spell 'Drytron Fafnir'" As the surroundings changed, As they were on a giant space station shaped as a mechanical dragon. People were confused about the unfamiliar card, but were amazed by the new field. "Now, with its effect. I can get one 'Drytron' Spell or trap to add to my hand. I add 'Drytron Nova'" As he drew the spell card, while people were still mesmerized by his field spell.

The activation and the activated effects of Ritual Spell Cards cannot be negated. There were some stars that appeared and they connected, it lit up brightly and 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah' appeared. He was a blue mechanical dragon with a purple accent. He had mechanical wings, and a shield on both of his arms that glowed bright pink.

"After that, I activate 'Drytron Alpha Thuban's effect!" He says out loud as he shows his card from his hand. "He lets me special summon himself in defense position, by tributing one other 'Drytron' monster. I choose to tribute 'Drytron Zeta Aldhibah' on my field. Now go 'Drytron Alpha Thuban'" Stars appeared and glowed brightly. 'Drytron Alpha Thuban' appeared. He was a blue mechanical dragon, he had mechanical wings that all connected through his back. He had a sword for one arm, and a gun for another. He had a mechanical tail that had a bright yellow light near the tip.

People were amazed by its appearance.
[Network Chat:
LAbaF: HEY! WHAT ARCHETYPE IS THAT?
TheLEgend: I don't know, but it looks cool
Myra: Let's not get too excited. It's in defense position with 0 defense]
While people were talking in the chat. We go back to the duel.
"Well even if you did summon it, it's still in defense position!" Toki says confidently.
"I'm not done yet, with his effect I can get a Ritual monster to my hand" Eric said as he draws a ritual monster.
Everybody was dumbfounded because of the monster he just drew. A ritual monster? That wasn't used anymore for the past years. With the extra deck summonings with much easier summoning conditions, it was basically non-existent! So to say that everybody was surprised was an understatement.
"HAHAHAHAHA" Toki and his friend just laughed. "RITUAL!? THAT PATHETIC METHOD?" He says in-between laughs. "We aren't living in the early 1900's anymore. Those cards are useless" He tells Eric.
And the chat seemed to agree.
[Network Chat:
LAbaF: A ritual deck? At this time?
TheLEgend: I know right? The card art was cool, but it turned out to be a ritual deck.
Myra: Well, maybe he had a ritual spell already?
LAbaF: Didn't you see what he drew? It was a level 12 and he has a level 1 on his field, even if he has a ritual spell, he can't use it]
All through the insults, Eric was seen just smirking. Unaffected by every insult thrown at him.
