A month passed by so fast. It's been almost a month since Kinrue left Raven's house and didn't talk to him. Every time the two encounter inside the school grounds, she's the one who acts like nothing, as if they didn't know each other. There's a lot of things change to Kinrue, even Camie and Ashley notice it. She's not as bubbly and troublesome anymore. If there's an available time, she always vanished like a flash beside her friend and came back like nothing happened. Besides on the changes, she's always in the infirmary not to escape from class but because of health problems. Compare to before, Kinrue works hard in the cafe during her shift and even applies for a new job as a piano tutor every weekend.
No one knows about her new job besides to one person, which is Renkai Picozzi. Even she didn't expect it, but when she's in the search for a new job, they bump into each other. He's the one who offers the piano tutorial job, and the client is his niece. One of the reason they meet each other almost every weekend and spend more time than her friends.
Both of them got close after a week of getting to know each other, period. She discovers during this past month that Renkai is a natural, playful and clever person. They also have many similarities and it helps them to get along. But the problem is Renkai Picozzi is a biggest fan of Shenrue Himura and even has a poster and Cd's collection in his room. It made her embarrassed, but overwhelmed at the same time.
Today is Friday. Camie, Ashley and Kinrue are in the basketball gym watching the practice match of between Lorcan's group and the other school basketball team. There are many cheering here and there, it's loud and as if in a competition. It's already in the third set, in favor of Lorcan's group. Despite of what she's been to this past few days, Kinrue cheers are still the loudest inside and Lorcan's group couldn't help but to look at her direction, give a thumbs up every time they shoot. If it's a normal day like before, she'll faint in happiness, but she only gives a wide smile and cheer again.
"Go, go, Lunaris! Beat them all Lunaris!" she said, shouting as they got a point from Lorcan's three point shoot.
"Go, go, Lunaris! Beat them all Lunaris!" Camie and Ashley said, holding a basketball team club banner.
"What a loud sh*t?!"
The three stop from cheering and look behind them and saw Nianan covering his ears. Beside him are Arisa, Lewis, Mirko, Callie and Raven. Camie's about to say something to them but Kinrue stops it, shrugs her head.
"Let's go on the lower benches. There are many students cheering for them." Ashley said.
"It's much better than to hearing an assh*le blabbing something else."
The three walk down to the lower benches, but Kinrue feels a sudden dizziness. She stops for a second, slipping a bottle of water on her hands. It startles her friends and supports the body out of instinct.
"Rue? Are you okay? Do you want to go to the infirmary?" Camie asked, but she shrug her head.
"Hey, are you fine there? Kinrue looks pale. Is she fine?" They all look behind and saw Callie talk with worried place.
"Let's go," she insisted and take a step, pulling her arms away from the two standing beside. But the dizziness didn't subside and got worse. She almost falls down, but someone grabs her waist.
"It's not bad to say you're not fine brat,"
Even before she can utter a word, Nianan, who suddenly shows up, carries her like a bride and walks outside. She wants to protest, but there's no strength in her body but dizziness. The rest who stay in their position left dumbfounded and stunned.
Inside the infirmary, Nianan let her rest in an empty bed while the doctor came to check. He steps back, lets the doctor see what's wrong in her body. There's no one inside beside them and its silence.
"Dizziness again?" Dr. Rodriguez asked and she nod as an answer. "Are you taking the medicine in right time? You need to take it every day. Anemia can lead to a serious disease if not treated and taken seriously. Do you understand?"
"I-I'm sorry,"
"Anemia?" Nianan asked in confusion.
"I'll take a rest. Don't disturb me."
She lies down properly and pulls the comforter up to her chest and turns back to them. The doctor reads the atmosphere and what she wants to say. She lead Nianan outside and close the curtain around and tell him Kinrue needs to rest for a moment.
He didn't ask anymore and leave the infirmary with question mark in eyes.
After almost half an hour, she wakes up from a short sleep, feeling much better than before. She's about to sit when the curtain open. She thought it's the doctor but saw Raven with a serious face. They stare at each other for quite a few seconds before Kinrue look away.
"What are you doing to get sick?"
"There's no reason for you to worry about me. Give a lot of effort to confess your feelings to Callie, the goddess perfectionist, so we can't interfere in each other life. I'm working on my own, so..."
He chuckled. "So, Lewis is right. Renkai and you are always together, hanging around during weekends in their house."
"Yeah, so what? Mind your own business and scram."
A silence echoes between the two. No one wants to break it. Not until they heard a voice, and it came from Larisa and Callie, who seems have business inside. A naughty thoughts came to her mind, about to stand and open the curtain, but Raven's reflexes are good. He stop her at the right time and push down on the bed with madness in eyes. Their faces are inches away from each other, but no one wants to break the stare. It's as if their eyes are talking about something they didn't know.
"Larisa, are you close to Kinrue?"
"Kinrue Cienfuegos? Not so, why? Did she beat you at last?" Larisa laugh sarcastically.
"No. I just sense something off from her identity. It's familiar to a person I know."
"You hated her?"
"I hate someone who has an attitude like a trash. Shenrue is one of an example of it."
Kinrue frown on what she heard and pushes him away, but he grabs both her wrists. Her chocolate colored eyes look like going to turn red anytime. At some point, she's ready to show her fangs to anyone.
"Let me go, d*mn you! I said let me go" He move his face towards her. It made her stop moving, look away, biting her lower lip.
He notices some blood coming from her lips because of how strongly she bites it. Without hesitation, he grab her jaw to stop it and give a warning look but Kinrue just cry in silence. He loses his grip and do nothing at the situation, not until they heard the door open and close again. The voices are gone. There's no presence of anyone outside beside them. Kinrue's silent cry turns to a sob. Many thoughts running through her mind, it's not only about her and Callie but the situation she's scared to face. She keeps hiding it for a month without someone to cry on, but now the man who comforts her before is right in front. She couldn't help but to cry.
On the other side, it made Raven startled. Whenever he sees the woman, she's always crying like a child. He didn't know what's going on with her this past month, but he knows it got worse than before.
A sigh escapes his mouth and wipes her tears away. "Stop crying, please."
"D-Don't be nice to me. You're a cruel person. You should maintain being cruel in front of me." She said, almost mumbling, tries to push him away but failed.
"I know, I know. It's all my fault." He surrender and stop her hand. "I admit it's all my fault. I'm cruel and a sh*thead. An assh*le who always makes you cry. I'll admit to everything, sorry."
"Why? Why all of you are cruel? No one believes me, no one accepts who I am. You always took my freedom and fool me over again." He frowned at what is she was saying, it's kind of off topic. "I only have limited freedom. Can't you let me be happy and feel the last bit of it until the end?"
"Hey, what are you sayin—"
He didn't finish his words when she saw her crying hard. She purses her lips as if wanting to say something but hold it off.
"Elf? Breathe in, breathe out. Let out your cry... Hey,"
"I... I w-want to see my dad."
After saying those words, she burst out crying that heard throughout the infirmary. Raven heard a noise near the curtain, which made him sensitive.
"Don't f*cking open it and leave," he said with a warning tone. The shadow of a woman step back and runaway, slamming the door hard, but it didn't bother him.
