"Why do the main character's parents often get the short end of the stick?"
That is what Mila asked while looking up at the sky. She was grumbling toward whoever sent her inside the novel she read before she died.
She becomes the mother of the main character, whose parents are both dead. Mila's character was merely a tool for the MC's character development.
It's a simple, fix-all solution. The author wanted to make the audience instantly sympathetic towards the main character, and the best thing he did was to have the MC's parents die.

After she avoided her death in the original plot, death flags kept coming for her. 

Will the original plot not end if she's not dead?

Giro remained silent even though Robert was glaring at her, while on her side, Christopher was staring at her creepily, as if she were a toy that Christopher wanted to have.

Robert admitted grudgingly causing Giro to feel unrighted, but she became even more terrified after hearing a vicious remark from a fourteen-year-old child. Christopher looked lively as he jumped up and down while looking up at her, but she could not ignore the sinister smile on Tope's face.

"Yes! Yes! Come and play with me! I have a lot of slaves to play with!"

"Are you telling me that I'll come and be your slave?"

Giro asked while she stealthily glanced at her side to find a way to get away from these two dangerous people.

"Hey, Tope, don't scare her like that. She won't come if you talk like…. that? Fuck!"

Again, Robert cursed after he finished his sentence in the other location. He and Christopher were sent to another location again.

“What episode?”
