Is the doom that Kimsmeth brought to Mila and the others really his fault?
Is it really a crime he committed when he was only innocently writing stories?
In fact, he was not aware of his power to create a world from his imagination, and that ignorance was thought to be his only crime.
Despite feeling greatly wronged, Kimsmeth chose to take the punishment for the crime he didn't entirely mean. His mind had already anticipated the outcome when he had chosen to take responsibility.
Being punished for something he didn't mean was more akin to a surprise beating.
His brain screams he doesn't deserve it.
Kimsmeth was rendered helpless.
He hoped for their mercy but received a lot more hostility.
The more he is beaten and suffers, the worse he feels deep within his heart. He could feel hatred forming inside him instead of redemption.
