"I’ll be by your side.”

"I'm sorry," Robert mumbled as he stared at Mila's face.

With her eyes closed, and with her light breathing, Mila looked like a dead person. Her skin doesn't have the same dark color as before, as she looks more ill with her lips, which look dry and bruised. The sudden loss of her weight shows how much blood she lost from the gunshot wound.

Robert cleaned and changed Mila's clothes for her to have a comfortable rest to recover. He only sat at the edge of the bed as he hesitated if he deserved to be by Mila's side.

"I should have talked to you instead of running away." He continued to softly speak, for him not to wake her up. He gently caressed Mila's left closed eyelid as he remembered how Mila lost her left eye. "I should have known better after your eyes got plucked out. You were too vulnerable at that time. I should have known better."

"Why? What will you do if you know?" Mila suddenly asked while still having her eyes closed.
