Chapter 14- Love.

Sasha's POV.

Sitting on the bed of green grass,

Staring at the colors splashing in the sky.

We were waiting for the sun to drown in the river,

Sacrificing itself to let the moon scatter it's shine all over the sky.

"Isn't it magical." I whispered, hypnotized by the ombré drawing in the canvas called sky.

Breathing in a dollop of air,

I stood up, standing at the peak of the hill, spreading my arms in the sky.

It was serene, I felt my worries exhaling my mind with each exhale and the burden of heartbreak lifting from my heart. I felt tranquil. I felt happy and most importantly I felt like living. Living with him! I know it's wrong, I am again falling in the trap and maybe he is coming closer to me so that I confess my feelings for him and satisfy his ego.  But I cannot resist the pull from him. I am getting pulled towards him like a magnet. And his company is the only thing that can heal me. I don't care what I am supposed to do and what world wants me to do. All I want is to listen to my heart and do what I wish.

His hand raked around my waist as I felt his smell of woods and lavender glide into my nostrils. His warm breath tickled the skin of my neck as his other hand pushed my hairs on my left shoulder, giving him an exposure to the back of my neck. His thumb caressed the skin as his hold on my waist firmed up. I didn't stopped him because I felt like a river in the snow, completely frozen, unable to flow. The butterflies in my tummy were back, this time dancing with his movements. I felt his hands travelling up my arm and spreading with mine. My body was on fire, i felt currents riding in my nerves with his touch. He entwined our fingers in the air, as I felt like we were representing a scene of titanic with the sun instead of water and peak instead of a boat. Minutes felt like hours as we stood under the setting sun, drowning in the warmth of each other. Suddenly I felt Alex twirling me and pushing my shoulders. My eyes grew wide as I moved my hands in the air, finding for something I could catch and stop myself from falling.  My body leaned towards the cliff and I was about to fall when he held my wrist. My legs were at the edge and my body was in the air. I looked down at the sharp rocks and deep cliff, I was going fall in. If he left my wrist I was for sure going to fall in this pit and die.  I squeezed my eyes as my lips trembled.

"Sacred squirrel?" My eyes shot open as I stared at him petrified. He smirked and all I wanted was to punch that smirk off his face.

"Hell! What's wrong with you Alex?" I scowled, "Pull me up or else I will fall down. "

"Ahhaaaa. Someone is scared to die!"

Yes. I don't wanna die now, I wanna spend time with you. No matter if it is just a month or a day or even few minutes. I want enough memories that could help me live years without you. But can I tell him the truth?

"It's nothing like that, I just don't want you to go to jail."

"If I leave your hand, nothing can stop you from falling into the dark cliff."

"I am warrior who stepped out from the darkest cave of depression, this cliff is nothing in front of it."

He raised his eyebrows and commented ,"Interesting."

"And I know you won't leave my hand."

"How can you trust me with that?"

I just stared in his deep eyes.

As I was lost giving the ripe of my heart to him once again, he left my wrist and I felt my body acting to the gravity. I closed my eyes and without any emotion waited to say the world good-bye. But before I fall down, Alex's finger's wrapped around my palm, pulling me up. With a jerk he pulled me on the ground and closer to him. I crushed into his chest as our faces were almost touching. Encircling his arm around my waist, he hold me tighter and murmured, "How can you trust the person who had betrayed you before? The person who had once pushed you in a cliff of heartbreak, without even looking back at you again!"

"I don't know. I don't know Alex. All I know is, I stepped out of that valley only because of you. Mo matter how much you push me away but the truth is you are the only light that can kill the darkness inside me."

His body stiffened as a shadow of tiredness reflected in his eyes. This time he didn't masked it, but let me read his emotions.

Under the changing colors of the sky, I lost in the forest of his eyes. They were enchanting and I never want to step out from them.

I could see the leaves of guilt, the roots of the world clutching him and for the first time in my life, I could see the immense sorrow clouding his soul. I was taken aback by the whirlpool of emotions, I could read in his eyes. Instead of ego, want and love I had always seen in them, today I saw remorse, guilt and shattered pieces of his glassy heart, shining in his eyes. A lone tear slipped off his left eye and I couldn't help but wipe it off with my finger tip. Before I can peep into his soul further, he hugged me tightly as if his life depends on it. Though I wanted to question him further, I bit my tongue and treat by body by hugging him back and losing myself in his warmth.

-------

As we were returning back, I could feel a drastic drop in the temperature. The yellow sleeveless dress I wore, did no good to my body. I felt myself shivering. Wrapping my hands around myself, I rubbed my arms to ignite heat. Then suddenly a familiar warmth covered my body as Alex stepped closer to me, Placing his jacket on my shoulders. I could feel his smell wafting from his jacket. Hugging it closer to myself, I blushed furiously. I averted my gaze and kept on walking, hiding my tinted cheeks.

AUTHOR'S POV.

Alex and Sasha entered the hut to find a group of girls sitting in the corner. As soon as they noticed her, they rushed towards her with a grin "Oh Sasha, it has been really a long time since we met. I wonder if you still remember me." said Lily, Sasha's childhood friend. "Of course I do Lily." Sasha giggled, hugging her friend.  "That's why you didn't come to meet us yet." said Nina. "Nothing like that." "Aunty can we take her with us? It has been a long time since we met and spend time together." Lily asked as Aunt Jenny rejected, "NO, Lily, she is here with her boss and they have to leave after dinner." "Oh aunty please, just for an hour." "She haven't ate her dinner yet."

"Mamma please, I will be back in ten minutes." Sasha pleaded and received a death glare by her mother. Her face instantly fell. "It's okay, Aunt Jenny, let her go." Alex replied. "But-"  Alex cut Aunt Jenny's words, "We will be leaving late. You come back before 12 am. Okay?" Sasha looked at him in awe as her girls squealed with happiness. They pulled them out but she halted in her steps and asked him, "Alex! Would you like to join us?" Alex furrowed his brows and said, "I don't think so I can  intrude a girl gang." "OH  come on! We have others also in our gang. Dan, Tony, Liam. We can lit a camp fire and have fun." He ran his fingers through his chocolaty hair and shrugged. Sasha stepped forward, tugging his arm and pulling him with her. Unable to see them together, Daisy followed them, uninvited.

Just a few feet away she guided them into a part of woods where a group of youngsters sat in a circle. Her eyes, landed on Alex who sat on a stone, laughing with few other guys. Honestly, Alex's happiness is what she love but today, it crushed a part of her. She had never ever seen him happy with her like this. When Daisy is around, he is either busy on his phone or working. All she had wished is to see his fiancé happy with her, she had known him for being a jolly and notorious person, whose company is loved by all, but he had never been like this with her. She sat on a stone while Sasha jumped in the crowd burning the campfire. "So let's start the night with Sasha's favorite game, Never have I." A blond guy suggested as other's cheered. They filled small glasses for all of them.

The game started, as Roy brought up his glass and said, "Never have I fallen in love." Most of the people made grumpy faces at Roy. Sasha and Alex stared at each other, before they sipping on their drinks.

"Never have I kissed someone?" the other girl said as almost everyone took a sip including Alex and Sasha, except Daisy. She glared at Alex as she knew he had never kissed her, is it possible that he kissed someone else. Shutting off the negative thoughts, she consoled her heart that a kiss means nothing, if he had kissed another girl, it is before she entered his life.

The game went on as people stated their confessions, but Daisy's glass was almost full, because they all talked about relationships and though Daisy was already engaged, she never been able to accomplish any of the couple goals with Alex. The thing that bothered her the most was the almost empty glasses of Sasha and Alex. She always thought Alex had been only hers, he loved only her but today she felt her doubts growing stronger. It proved that he had been more than close with an another girl and the truth ripped her heart.

--------

The game changed as Roy turned his back playing a song. The ball passed around everyone but as Sasha passed it to Alex, their fingers brushed and the atmosphere turned wild.  Under the shade of a starry night, they stood next to each other, drowned in each other's eyes.  Besides the burning flames, they were ready to melt in each other's embrace.  "Whoa!" everyone squealed ruining their journey of hearts. As a matter of punishment they were entwined together to entertain the crowd. Walking towards the fire, he held his hand, as the song played in the background, forcing them to forget the world and drown into the ocean of each other's soul. Encircling his hands around her waist, feeling the warmth that she emitted, he let his body melt. The desert of her hazel eyes, felt watered as she let herself hid amidst the cloud of his gray eyes.  The world stopped spinning around them as she placed her hand on his shoulder. They couldn't hear any cheers, they couldn't hear any song all they could hear was each other's heart, crying to be bathed in the color of love. He couldn't remember the handcuff of his engagement, he couldn't remember the existence of Daisy, all he can remember is the girl in his arms and the moments he spend with her. Letting their bodies sway in each other's beats, there was nothing that could stop them from drowning in the color of love. Not the burning flames, nor the jealous hearts. "Don't they look adorable?" commented Lily, "They are just made for each other couple, aren't they?"

The flame in Daisy's heart ignited, burning the walls around her. Her heart withered  as the fire of jealousy, sparks of betrayal and ashes of dreams boosted in her soul. She couldn't help but run away from them before the oil of their love is sprayed in the fire of her heart.
