"Hey, Alexia, this is Jack Williams, do you have time?"

"Yes, I was about to reply to you." I didn't expect him to call, and I was a little embarrassed.

"I'll pick you up this afternoon." Jack Williams eagerly wanted to strengthen his relationship with me.

"No, thanks. I will take the subway to arrive faster. So I won't bother you."

Although Alexia rejected Jack, he was still happy. It was because he saw something real in her heart. She didn’t worship money, and she was a perfect choice for his wife.

After searching again not finding the necklace, I dressed up casually and went to the appointment.

"I bought the 2:50 Titanic. It's still early. So let's go shopping." I nodded and went shopping with him. But I was still worried about the necklace. I totally ignored other people's gazes.

But other people’s envious stare made Jack Williams even more satisfied. It was because a beautiful girl, I could say that about myself. I was standing by his side. It was like he is telling everyone that he was a successful person, and he didn’t expect to meet such an elegant lady.

To show everyone his success, Jack Williams took me to the coffee shop with a lot of people.

"What do you want to drink?" Jack Williams asked like a gentleman.

"Ah, anything is okay." I didn’t like coffee at all. It tastes bitter. So I preferred milk.

After getting the coffee, we sat by the window, and I found him staring at me. "What happened?"

"Your earrings?" He wanted to get close to my ears and I quickly escaped. Then I discovered that the SKY Mermaid earrings were still on my ears.

"Diamonds." His tone was strange.

“No, it's fake. I bought it because it looks good." I lied instantly.

Jack Williams heard the answer and was more satisfied with me. What a diligent and thrifty girl!

"The movie is about to begin. Let's go." I changed the topic.

In the end, I couldn’t calm down and appreciate the movie. I had been thinking about the lost necklace and the meaning of that beautiful gift. This necklace was so famous that it could be found in the Internet. Sky mermaid meant loyalty. It's for lovers. Why did Calvin give this to me? Did he want to pursue me? If it was true, should I agree? No, no, I wouldn’t agree. My life had finally stabilized. I didn’t want to get caught up in some unrealistic things. He was so young, handsome, and rich. How could he like such an ordinary me? But now that I have lost his necklace, how should I repay him? If we would get together in the future, I would feel even apologetic for him. His lover would probably hate me.

I watched the movie absently, completely unaware of what Jack Williams was talking about.

"Hey, alexia, are you ok?" Jack Williams was a little unhappy.

After the whole movie, I didn't interact with Jack, which made him feel dissatisfied. In the film, after seeing the kissing scene, many couples couldn't help but kiss, but he didn't get anything. Of course, I didn’t know what was going on around me at all! I was absent-minded the whole time.

Today is Monday, and there used to be weekly meetings in the past, but Angel Johnson didn’t show up in the office until 9:30, then her secretary asked everyone to stand up and listen to her.

"Bella, you heard it too. Just now she called Warren and said something about the earrings!" Angel was very angry.

Angel’s face darkened.

"Angel, don't do this. It will have a bad influence on you." Bella kindly reminded her. Angel also knew that the lunch break would be over soon. When others would see her prying the locker of a staff’s desk, it would do no good to her.

So she turned and went back to her office. After eating, I returned to the office and found traces of movement on my desk. "Who moved my belongings?!"

All my colleagues turned and stared at me. Everyone panicked after seeing my anxious expression.

"Alexia, do you have anything missing?" Andie's words reminded me that my earrings must not be lost.

When I opened the lock and took out the bag. Angel suddenly snatched the bag from me.

"What are you doing?" Is this woman crazy?! She snatched my bag.

"Didn't you say you lost something?” She had a smirk on her face. “Just let me help you see if you have anything missing."

Angel smiled strangely, and wanted to open my bag. "You have a mental illness!"

Andie beside me helped me snatch the bag while Angel didn't pay attention.

"Alexia, check the surveillance, don't let some thieves run away!" The colleagues around also agreed with Andie's suggestion. I saw Angel's expression change, and she became very anxious. Then, I realized that she must be bothering me. So I accepted Andie's suggestion.

"Well, I'll check it out later. If I lose something, I must give feedback to Mr. Smith. The security of our company is not really good either." I stared at Angel, soon as when she heard me say Calvin’s name, her expression became strange. Oh, she could only do these naive actions. I stared at Angel and smiled disdainfully.

“Even if this company is a corporation, I know for a fact that this is not owned by a proprietor, somehow some members of the board wouldn’t tolerate such a manager’s act.

Who would accept that one of their department manager is a thief? Prying on a staffs cabinet and now snatched a bag?

How cheap must a manager like that be huh? Tskk… tsk.. tsk… “I looked at her from head to foot insultingly.

Andie jumped in front of me then agreed.

“Indeed, there’s a lot of pairs of eyes here! They are living witnesses even without the surveillance cameras.”

She laughed bravely. “I didn’t know that managers and rich people or so cheap at some point of their lives because of their obsession to men! How pitiful.

Bella tried to play a hero then jumped in front of Andie giving her a scary look. But knowing Andie she opened her eyes wide while her nose were moving upside down.

“Try me or all of you will be fired!” Angel was becoming furious.

“Are you sure you can do all our duties by yourself? You don’t even know how to professionally steal a bag and or to win a man decently, what more for finishing a task?”

I am so done! I stared at her fearlessly. If this will cause my termination to the company, then so be it!

My salary for my entire life will never be enough to pay the earing after all!

If I needed to rumble with her in protection for the earrings then I will! I lost the necklace so not the earrings too!

Andie looked at me in agreement. Then when I looked around, I saw that almost everyone in the room were on my side.

So if incase the earrings were really stolen, I have witnesses to help me out.

I pulled my bag in her hands, then gave her a deadly look. I am raised with dignity, so this daughter of whose daughter do4esnt have any right to ruin me! Damn her!
