Liam caressed my back for a long time until I was able to calm down. I had been terrified by learning the fact that the hunters leader had a grudge against me. But I didn't get to question Barbara personally. I could only shrink in my husband's warm embrace, sniff his masculine scent and rub against his chest affectionately.

Raising my head, I looked at him with tears in my eyes. No matter what happens to me, only Liam had been keeping my emotions stable. If one day he were to go against me, I would end up making too many mistakes. I could even die.

I shivered even thinking of such a possibility and hugged him tighter. "What do we do now?" Nothing was certain. If the news was true, I was in grave danger, and I couldn't leave my husband's side even for a second. But if the news was false, that meant someone was trying to see whether Liam had affection and love for me. If he did, they would make a plan to harm me to kill Liam.
