Chapter 38

Back at the Jade Court, Cheney asked me, "Did you mean it when you say you want to break away from your mother?"

I frowned. Why did he bring up this topic again?

"What is your expression, maybe, you just want to scare her? I hope she will change for you?"

I shook my head. "I didn't think so."

Walking to the bed and sitting down, I sighed, "I know my mother can't go back to six years ago."

"So, what are you hesitating about?"

Why was he so interested in that topic? I thought.

"Why can't you say it when you are sober? Do you need a drink?"

Need a drink? It seems that there is nothing wrong with it. After all, some words have been suppressed in my heart, which is very uncomfortable. I happily said, "Okay."

"What would you like to drink?" He asked.

"I want to drink beer. Can you drink it?"

"Don't provoke me, just drink yours."

He called downstairs, and one of the maids brought a beer.

He and I came to the balcony and sat on the floor.
