Chapter 41

I walked upstairs and knocked on Cheney's office door.

Milo isn't in the room. Gia's the only one at the office.

Gia pulled down her face when she saw me.

I didn't want to cause a conflict, so I ignored her and walked directly to Cheney's office.

She said lukewarm, "Mrs. Fischer, the president is busy at the moment. If you want to see him, please wait a moment. I'll go in and inform you."

"No, he asked me over."

"Sorry, as the secretary of the president, I didn't receive the telephone notice of your direct release."

I turned around and walked up to her table, where I looked down at her seated in her chair. "I don't know if you don't mention it. Miss Gia turns out to be a good person. So, Miss Gia, who is so well-behaved, may I ask you whether you sit poorly and greet Cheney's guests with a cold face when they come to visit? Is it in line with the company's policies?"

She smirked. "I'm not here to sell laughter, I'm the president's secretary."
