I pointed in the direction of the door. "Now, I'm going to start working. You can go out."

She turned, walked to the door, and then turned again. "Mr. Cheney, do you like Krista?"

This question was easy to answer, but it left me dazed.

She was silent, opened the door, and left. I leaned to my desk, picked up my pen, and opened my papers.

It rained all afternoon, and when I was done with a bundle of work on my desk, I called Krista to take her home with me.
