Does that mean I'll never be a mom? I exhaled heavily then picked up the pregnancy test. Negative.

I sighed with a mix of relief and sadness. I knew it was the best possible result, because the way my life was at the moment. I could barely look after myself, let alone a baby. I threw it in the bin, then made my way back downstairs.

“It's negative,” I said softly to Tristan, but I got no reply.

I could see the back of his head over the couch, but he wasn't moving. Panic engulfed me when thoughts of him being dead flooded my brain. I held my breath as I asked nervously,

“Tristan?”

I crept around the couch slowly.

A huge smile grew across my face when I saw that he had just fallen asleep. He looked so darn cute too. A piece of his blond hair swept across his eye, and his cup of coffee was almost falling out of his hand. The coffee was seconds away from going all over our beautiful new couch.
