Chapter 73

“Uh, I don't know. I was trying to open it and it got stuck, then I fell over in front of it. That's why you couldn't open it,” I said in a rush.

I was quite impressed with myself that I'd managed to think up a quick lie. My thoughts suddenly went to Mason, I hoped he was okay. I had visions of him landing head-first on the floor outside.

“Right, okay, well I'm glad you're fine. Can you meet me in my office downstairs, I think it's about time I explained everything, don't you?”

“Yeah,” I nodded in agreement.

He turned around and walked out of the bathroom. Once I knew that he was gone, I quickly ran over to the window. I nervously peered over the window ledge, half expecting to see Mason splattered all over the concrete slabs below. I sighed with relief then chuckled as he looked up at me with a massive grin on his face, before sending me a cheeky wink.
