Chapter 124

We drove for a little while with me blaring out chick music. Tristan moaned, but I just reminded him that it was my birthday after all. He rolled his eyes, but soon quit complaining about it.

“Take a left here,” he said while pointing to a turning just in front of us.

“Huh? Why, what's up there?” I asked, but did as I was told and turned onto the dirt road.

“You'll see. Just keep driving until I say stop. Okay?” He glanced out of the window for a while before saying,

“Stop. We're here.”

I slammed my foot on the break and looked out of the window. We were in the middle of nowhere.

“A field?”

He laughed while leaning over to take the keys out of the ignition. With a kiss to my cheek, he got out of the car and went to the trunk. I tried to see what he was doing in the wing mirror, but the trunk was hiding him. He closed it before strolling around the car to open the door for me. As he held his hand out for me, I asked,

“Aww. Is that a picnic?”
