Chapter 144

“Hey Mason,” she said in a low sultry voice while placing her hand on my knee.

“Hi, Carmen,” I replied casually.

I abruptly removed her hand from my knee and placed it on her own when she began to talk to me.

“So, I was wondering...”

I cut her off by raising my finger to my lips and shushing her, before pointing towards Damien as he prepared to start his briefing. She huffed and dramatically threw herself back onto the couch. She folded her arms and crossed one leg over the other in a strop. That was exactly one of the reasons why I never responded to any of her advances, she was a drama queen and way too childish for my liking.
