“I'll be back in a minute, I promise,” I said to the guys and they both groaned in response. 


I stood there in front of the bed and stretched out my aching body, arms reaching into the air and I groaned as I finished my stretch. Just as I lowered my arms and opened up my eyes I saw the bedroom door gently close then click shut. I furrowed my brow and my wolf hearing kicked in. I heard a woman crying behind the door, then the sound of bare feet running away, along the hallway and then down the stairs. I sprinted towards the bathroom and just as I reached the bathroom door I could hear the woman crying again, so I rushed over to the window and saw a woman in the distance running through the darkness and then disappearing into the woods.
