“Okay, okay, calm down,” Cassie replied nervously as she held up her hands in defense. “So where is he now then? Surely he would want to spend your birthday with you, eh?” She asked me as she folded her arms across her chest and painted a smug look on her face.

As soon as the words came out the flood gates opened, I couldn't control the emotions that were overwhelming me. I covered my face with my hands as I sobbed. Cassie immediately came over to me and sat next to me. She slid her arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer and embraced me. I'd missed her so much. I could just let myself be vulnerable with her. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed hanging out with the girls in my pack, but with Cassie, I could be my old self. I wasn't a Luna, a leader, I was just Freya.
