The girl's head flew to the side of the room, hitting the wall. Her body stayed limping, held by the chains.
Both of the brothers were rewarded differently. Beng Hun received
Each of them showed their respective skills. They were excited to test these them, but they had to reach Foundational Establishment.
"Beng Hun, do you know how cultivation works in this world?"
"No. I do not know what that means either. When that message popped up showing that a strong cultivator was near, I was confused."
"Well it basically is the path of immortality, where you achieve many breakthroughs and gain power as a result. We can become significantly stronger as we reach new realms. A cultivator practices this, like the people in our sect."
Beng Hun suddenly got angry. He had not forgotten his purpose, but he tried to suppress these feelings so he could focus on training and getting stronger. He took a deep breathe to cope with these negative feelings.
"The people in our sect... we have to cultivate then. How do we do this?"
Feng Shu shook his head.
"I'm not sure. We have a Qi Condensation Pill and a Foundational Establishment Pill. I don't know which one we use first or how we even use it. I rather not risk it and take a random pill that could result in our death."
They both sighed. After Beng Hun was introduced to the concept of cultivation, he wanted to practice it as soon as possible. Feng Shu also wanted to do this when he got transmigrated, but he didn't know where or how to start it. The system didn't help either, as it only made them exercise. They were very disappointed.
"Well Beng Hun, lets keep our heads up. We shall keep exploring and find out how to start our cultivation."
Beng Hun nodded.
"By the way Feng Shu, what should we do with that girl's head? I can see there is a loot option for it."
Feng Shu looked at her head and saw the option too. He walked over and decided to take it.
[Heavenly Guardian Sect.... wait a second. We should go there to learn how to cultivate!]
"Yes! I think that's how we are going proceed. Let us make haste Beng Hun, we shall become stronger."
"What are you talking about brother Feng?"
"We shall go to the Heavenly Guardian Sect. Be Bu, We Fu, and Ying Ning'er were there based on the memories of the journal. Ying Ning'er also had her cultivation suppressed, so she probably was a strong cultivator. I believe we can start our cultivation journey there."
"I see. You're a genius!"
But Feng Shu didn't know where to find the sect. So he told Beng Hun that they shall keep exploring the forest for now. They gave one last pray to Be Bu and We Fu before exiting the cave.
Beng Hun and Feng Shu looked around. They didn't know where to go exactly, and wanted to find a lead to the Heavenly Guardian Sect while exploring the cave. But they saw a set of stairs hidden above the cave that was covered by the trees. They climbed up and proceeded to walk where the stairs led. They stumbled upon a grave, labeled "Heaven's Right Hand Sect Master - Ge Ke". A journal was also right beside of it. They picked it up, receiving an item as
"Why do we keep getting these journals but see nothing Feng Shu?"
"I'm not sure. Let's just keep exploring, maybe we will know later."
They kept walking for days. They had no encounters with anything, other than the sound of bugs and animals. The Yiut's howl were never heard again since that day, and the map showed no dots to go to. The brothers kept up with their training everyday, improving steadily and never burning out.
"Feng Shu I'm getting bored! We haven't found or seen anything at all."
"Beng Hun, patience brother. We are bound to see something interesting eventually."
"I see. I want to pass the time while we walk, I wonder what was your life like back at your old world?"
Feng Shu looked away and stayed silent for a minute. Beng Hun was considerate of his feelings and didn't press on. But Feng Shu started talking.
"Beng Hun I'm going to be honest with you my life was pretty easy. I'm kind of embarrassed to talk about it because of how your brother died."
"...Well I do not mind. I want to know what it was like on earth."
"I usually would wake up and go to school in the morning. When I went home, I studied for for 12 hours in this place called the Philippines. When I was done, I usually would indulge in Chinese cultivation novels, manhwas, and manga alike. They are basically a book with pictures and words, which was pretty entertaining. I would only get 1 hour of sleep though.... and sleep in class a little. On the weekends I would try to catch up with my sleep, 19 hours at least were gone from my day. I didn't know how I could sustain this, because I would be tired but not too tired for me to burnout from this schedule. I had many friends who would were looking out for me and telling me to stop trying this, but I really wanted to get to the top university in the world. A university is basically like a sect, and there were many that I could go to. But this university was developed by every country that existed in my world. Imagine the most powerful sect. It was like that. They had a extraordinarily hard test with 2000 questions, each which had different languages. You had to get at least 1700/2000 to be considered in that college, and only 10 people could go in. Not to brag, but I knew every language and subjects related to school. That 12 hours of studying from 7 years old had gave me enough power to conquer that test. But before the week I took the test, I didn't sleep at all. My confidence was at an all time low after receiving a 90% on a math test. I usually aced it no problem. So I set out and never slept, studying for the whole week no break until 1 day before the test. I skipped school to sleep as much as I could.... and ended up here. That is basically my story."
Beng Hun listened with intent. When he heard about this Transmigrator's story, he was mixed with pity and exhilaration. Beng Hun felt bad with Feng Shu because he had basically never slept that good for his whole life. Beng Hun related it to a what-if situation where he worked for the whole day and slept for around 1 hours just to repeat the same thing again. Lots of pity was felt, it wasn't no "easy" life. Feng Shu grew up thinking that was normal.
But at the same time, he felt exhilarated because he saw how some of Feng Shu's qualities and personality developed to affect Beng Hun in becoming stronger. He understood more clearly on why Feng Shu was a bit harsh on him in the beginning and didn't let him become lazy putting off the exercises. Training and studying were intertwined in representing Feng Shu, as both resulted in progress everyday. Beng Hun felt a bit more respect for this Transmigrator, he understood his motivation more.
"Feng Shu, your life was interesting. I feel inspired yet disgusted because of how little sleep you got."
"Don't worry about it, it was an inhuman endeavor just for me to reach the pinnacle. Utterly wasted time that I could use to learn something else... I have realized that. But ever since I have came to this world, I am slowly thinking more and more that the struggle back in my old world was a prelude to the path of cultivation. Some kind of warmup I feel."
"My knowledge has broadened because of talking to you Feng Shu. I am thankful."
A few seconds after, they have finally exited the forest. They saw a grand sight.
There now were on a cliff that had a bridge spanning to a new set of land. It looked quite diseased and dead. No trees were in sight, just an ominous feeling coming from it. The sky was split, once was bright at the forest now turned dark and gloomy once it met the land.
"That place does not seem too good Feng Shu."
"I think you're right Beng Hun."
But they still continued on. When they first stepped foot onto the land, a message popped up in their system.
"I am scared Feng Shu."
"Do not be, we will kill anyone in our way."
Immediately after saying this, they see an old man approaching them. He looked like a demon grinning widely.
"Hehehe...."
