Chapter 2 - Good Luck

"Move now!" Yelled the earth bender guard that tried to move them back, bending the stone below him as he pulled his arms back.

"Its to late for that.. I must thank all of you, for locking me in a place like this.." the man in the cell, pulled his head back and the boiling water shot high in the air. It covered the guards and froze in a jagged line of ice in front of his cell.

"Tch.. i'm guessing they placed a lot of water benders here.." the man in the cell clicked his tongue, looking out at the guards who were trying to let themselves out of the ice.

Breathing out the ice turned back into water as they dropped, falling into the boiling water below as they screamed. The earth benders started to launch themselves at the box, bending the earth below their feet to catapult towards the cell. The chains that locked around the mans wrist, elbows, knees and ankles started to move. Making the man look up at the faces of the earth benders, through the vent above. The chains started to bend as they wanted to wrap the man up, the man moved his head down, the ice from the spider that was frozen, turned to liquid again as it fell towards the man in the cell.

While it fell into the cell, the water falling on to the chains as it froze. Whipping his head to use the water below to hit the earth benders above, causing them to fall back, using there bending to catch themselves, the box shook as they pulled themselves up.

The box shook making the man fall forward as he rotated his body, the ice on the chains made them fragile. They snapped as his legs split apart, to stop from the chains getting caught together as he landed on his feet.

"Finally, bending like that is to limiting.." with his hands free, the man smiled as he felt his legs get pulled back. The earth benders using the metal to pull him to the wall, trying to use the broken chains to lock his hands behind him.

"Tch.. annoying." Dodging the metal, he slammed his hands on the metal floor. Water from below shot up as it turned into an ice spike, breaking through the metal floor before turning to liquid.

"Compress the box! He has all the water he could want now.." one of the metal benders yelled as he saw the cell fill up with water.

"That will kill him!" One of the young metal bender said, confused by the others words.

"No just to restrain him.. there's.." the older metal bender tried to say, only to hear a voice that came from behind him.

"No need, should have thought of that earlier.." The deep voice of the prisoner came from behind them as they looked up, on the chain to the left. A bridge of ice lead up to it, where a long black haired young man hung.

Reacting the earth benders shot their wires at the man, while he swung his body up on the chain, rotating his legs as he did a handstand, launching ice at two of them sending them off the side. Flipping into the air as a wire shot passed his face and grabbing on to it. Using it to pull him forward as he flipped and fell towards the ones left. The man moved in close as the metal bender slammed his foot, using the metal to try and trap the man's feet. With a smile the man jumped and spun. The wire shot at him from the young bender, was kicked at its tip and shot towards his friend.

"First Time? Don't you think.. you should only bring Experienced benders here?" The man said as he watched the wire wrap the man's neck, the young bender tried to pull back but only pulled his friend towards him.

"Kid! What the hell are you doing!!!" The older bender cried out as he was pulled. Feeling his ass get kicked from behind as they both fell into the water.

"I'm sorry sir!" The younger bender yelled as they got tangled up.

The man stood on the box, hiding a chuckle at what he just watched. His head moving to the side as a burst of flames shot passed him, raising his hand, he moved it in a downward motion as the splash of water hitting the metal below him rang out.

"I actually forgot about them for a second.. did I lose my touch?" Talking to himself the man looked at the benders all around him, they all aimed their fist at him as he shook his head.

The fire benders on the walk way shot out flames in unison, the young man ran towards the edge of the box, jumping off as he flipped. Almost as soon as his bare feet hit the surface of the lake , the water froze. Letting vapor from the cold out of his mouth, he looked at the water around him, out of it tentacle like streams of water sat, the water benders that were at the ground level pointed their fist ready to strike.

"There is no where else to go.. do not move!" The young bender Lin'po yelled, looking at the man who stood out on the ice in the middle of the boiling water.

"You guys really are.. inexperienced huh.." the man on the ice stood up as he looked around. While he did the water shot at him, trying to restrain his arms and legs.

Only for the man to start and rotate as the lake below him became a Tower of spiraling water. Moving up above the walkways as fire shot at him, the man held up his hands to either side, while the water started expanding outwards. It filled up the large room in a minute as the water benders defended themselves. The fire and earth benders left, were pulled into the raging water as it was slammed back down into the lake it came from.

Moans of pain could be heard, the benders not lucky enough to hit the water but the shore cried out. The water benders who were wet but still standing, ready themselves as they looked out at the man on the lake.

"I wouldn't do that.. unless you want to deal with all the dead here today.." the man on the water spoke, the water freezing more outward as it moved towards the men in the lake, they screamed as the boiling water burnt their skin.

"Don't! That's enough!" A older man yelled, seeing that the man would go as far as to kill all these men, he picked the men rather then this psychopath.

"Sir we can't just let him go!" Lin'po yelled, looking at his friend who spoke.

"Lin'po enough! Do you see the situation we are in?! Put your personal feelings to the side and think about your team!" The older water bender yelled out, causing lin to put down his fist.

"Skill is not born from every victory, but learned through the pain of each failure." The man on the water spoke as he walked to the shore. Watching as he lifted his hand and swung it forward, water shot from the lake and at their bodies as it turned to ice. It hit them with great force as they flew into the rock walls behind them.

On the ground, through blurred vision, Lin'po looked at the back of the man. His voice strained but serious as he spoke. "I promise.. I'll put you back in that cell.." were the last words he said before falling unconscious.

"The boy has spirit.. good luck.." the man turned back for a second, smiling as he used the water to launch himself to the top walkway and near the tunnels to the surface.

"Your alright now.." the man spoke to himself as he pulled the rags from his chest, watching the pale spider-monkey come out, it's tiny body hugged closed to him. "Take me to her.." the man said as the creature jumped down and led the way.
