Straight From The Stomach of a Goat

-Your POV-

The first time Y/N woke up, the hospital wing was completely empty. She felt her stomach grumbling.

Luckily, a few minutes later, the nurse came with food. She ate as much as possible before she fell back to sleep.

The second time Y/N woke up, Draco was sitting next to her again. He was reading a book but once he noticed that Y/N was watching him, he closed it.

"Hey," he smiled. "How are you feeling?"

She watched how the last bits of evening sun threw warm light onto his face. His eyes were glistening like diamonds.

"You're hot," she mumbled.

Draco raised an eyebrow. "What did Pomfrey give you?"

"It's the truth. You're beautiful."

She extended her hand, wanting to touch Draco's face. He hesitated but eventually leaned forward a bit.

With her thumb, she stroked his cheek. His eyes were unreadable.

Finally, he kissed her. He tasted like pudding.

"The girl needs rest!" Madam Pomfrey pulled Draco away. "Keep your hands to yourself!" She threw him an angry glance and hurried away again.

Y/N felt her face heating up with embarrassment but Draco just rolled his eyes. "Why do we always get interrupted? Anyway, I brought you something."

He put the glass with the rest of the tea onto the table.

"I still think that this idea is bonkers but you won't listen to me anyway. I also brought the book with the recipe."

Y/N started smiling. She didn't think Draco would actually agree to her plan. "You're the best."

"I know. I'm so great for helping you poison yourself. On a brighter note, I also brought chocolate."

He put the package onto the blanket.

"That's so sweet! Exactly what I need." She opened it and broke some off.

The chocolate was delicious. It was dark and creamy.

They ate chocolate for a bit, discussing their plan and for a momentit, Y/N forgot how scared she was of drinking the tea again.

"It should be easy though, there's only one ingredient you need to add tonight. I won't need to drink the whole thing."

"Good. I don't want you to-"

Draco stopped when the door to the hospital wing opened and two other students entered.

It was Hermione, followed by Ron. When they saw Draco, they stopped for a second, exchanging a glance.

"Maybe I should come back later," Draco mumbled.

"No! Stay, please."

He looked at her unsure but stayed seated.

Once the other two arrived at her bed, Hermione pulled Y/N into a hug.

It was a very surprising gesture but it felt nice. "I'm so sorry, I couldn't come earlier! How are you? You scared me so much."

"I'm just tired." Y/N put on a little smile. "But I'll be back to normal tomorrow. I guess it's just stress."

"Good."

The girl saw the book. "What about the potion? Do you need help today?"

"She's got me," Draco replied coldly. "I'll take care of it."

"Since when are you a potion's master?" Ron asked.

Surprisingly, Draco just ignored him and looked away.

Y/N tried to break the tension. "Thank you for offering your help. And thanks for visiting me."

"Of course," Hermione said. "Let's talk tomorrow, okay?"

Y/N nodded. Then the Gryffindors left.

Once the hall was empty, Y/N grabbed the glass with the cold tea and took a big sip. That had to be enough.

"You're crazy," Draco grumbled but gave her the pocket watch.

"I'll be fine, don't worry."

She opened the book to the first page of the recipe. "Step 3: Add Galanthus Nivalis."

"How much?"

"One minute."

She felt the Eye of Knowledge heating up in her hand and waited for the feeling of intuition to kick in.

There it was.

"The petals of two flowers. You need to stir it until it turns black."

"Got it. Here." Draco took the pocket watch and instead handed Y/N the bezoar. "Get the poison out of your system."

He got up from his chair and packed his things. "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning, okay?"

"Okay. Good luck."

He smiled at her. "I don't need luck. Sleep tight."

And before she knew it, Y/N was completely alone again, the bezoar still in her hand.

She took a look at it. And this had been inside the stomach of a goat? Yuck.

But she didn't have a choice
