Chapter 24: Cleaning House

TWO HOURS LATER

Durri sat in a chair in the corner of Hudson and Shudon's apartment, sulking.

That was the only word for it.

Sulking.

The barbarian and druid scurried back and forth, sorting their belongings into different piles. Whenever she came close to Durri's seat, Shudon muttered, "Sorry!"

Durri wished she would stop.

It wasn't her fault the witch had gotten away. If it was anyone's fault, it was Durri's.

Maladia had been clever indeed.

None of the trio had noticed that not every weasel had turned into a human once the witch's curse broke. Several had apparently hidden under carts or behind crates. As soon as Maladia learned the trio intended to kill a dragon, she let out a loud whistle.

In response, all the remaining weasels swarmed Durri, climbing up his body to claw at his eyes and bite his face.
