Vesta took several deep breaths, looking around the room in awe. She felt like she was standing in front of her home like she never left.
“I saw these guys using this room to look at planets,” Tanner stuck a thumb over his shoulder at Rycer. “I figured out how to move through the stars by watching them on the controls. I noticed they kept going to our galaxy…but Vesta…”
Tanner paused uncomfortably, then shook his head, “Nah, never mind. I don’t know how to work the controls very well. I’m lucky to know how to do this…”
Putting his hand on the controls once again, Tanner pushed a button, then stepped back.
“Now walk. Walk like you would when you come home from work.”
Vesta put her right foot forward, then her left. Slowly she continued up the front sidewalk to the front door. Rycer followed her cautiously.
“Hold out your hand like you are going to push on the door…” Tanner grinned.
