“So, the Gol’Atan came to destroy the lab, but left without doing it…am I surprised you were involved?” Rycer smiled.
Vesta blushed, the memory of Rycer’s kiss still lingering on her lips.
“Your brother was there too!” Vesta said defensively. “He’s the one that saved his lab, although they smashed all the serum.”
“He can make more,” Rycer’s hand brushed Vesta’s. “You can’t win all the time.”
“Tell the Gol’Atan that,” Vesta huffed.
Rycer laughed, “Oh, I think Mazet, Re and I did that quite well today.”
Vesta joined in the laughter.
Rycer looked back, and Vesta turned in time to see Tanner give the commander a thumbs-up sign.
“What is that all about?” Vesta asked, casting a suspicious glance at her brother. “Why would my brother be giving you that sign?”
“Oh, I asked him for some advice,” Rycer said offhandedly.
Vesta stopped, “My brother? You asked my brother, Tanner, for advice?”
Rycer’s forehead creased with worry, “Yes?”
