After changing into something that allowed me to move, Memphis and I moved toward each other, meeting center stage. "Fallon, my love," he said, "I have had a ton of fun tonight, but I think it’s about time to say goodbye."


He was booed, loudly. I swept a sympathetic gaze from one side of the crowd to the other. "Aw, come on, guys. You know what they say, always leave them wanting more." 


"Mmm. Except in the bedroom," Memphis cautioned. "If you do that then, she’ll probably kill you." 


I laughed and allowed the audience a moment to express themselves. Then, I flattened my smile and straightened my eyes. "There are some people here tonight who want to see us fail. There are some people here tonight who have stalked us, harassed us, threatened us, and would do anything to watch us die." 


The noise dissipated. Only scattered voices remained, and none were happy. "Where they at?" Somebody screamed out. "We gotchu, baby girl!"
