Chapter 31

Citizen Hill

Citizen was glad she had her double daggers strapped to her back. Her figure was shrouded in a brown cloak with a loose hood to hide her face from most of the cameras. She walked in pace with the typical scuffle of the foot traffic of people who had plenty of time. She wanted to move faster, but for safety reasons, she had to blend in.

The streets of New Therian were stark. There were plenty of pedestrians, but it wasn't overly crowded. She was still in a lower-class area, so beggars and street vendors were everywhere.

Once a block or so, the occasional child beggar roamed the streets.

The sky was gray from the dome, which made everything seem darker and hazier than usual. It had been a while since she had been in the city. And now, she missed the openness and quiet of the wasteland out in the autonomous zone. A trash bot rolled in front of her, and a vending bot walked out of a stand.
