Chapter 28: Rose Is Served

“Are you expecting anyone?” Cade said, tension in his voice.

Rose shook her head. “No. I don’t have friends that would stop by either.”

He put out a hand to her. “Let me.”

“Cade I’ve been answering my front door alone since we moved in here.”

His stern gaze looked down at her. “Now you don’t have to. It’ll be better for everyone to know that a man is here some of the time.”

It sounded territorial to her and Rose wasn’t sure she liked that attitude. “I’m perfectly capable of answering my own front door, Cade. Just because you came into the picture doesn’t mean I’m completely helpless all of a sudden.”

Rose could see the warring emotions on his face. “Please let me answer the door.”

Well, when he asked nicely it was a different story.

“I’ll get it,” Keegan yelled from the hallway.

“No,” Cade and Rose yelled at the same time.

When she entered the hallway behind Cade, Keegan was frozen in place, a curious look on his face.
