Crap! Kade had called the cops. What about Gustin and George? Or Tommy? She bit back sour acid. Their uncles wouldn't willingly go to jail again.  


How many would die because Kade couldn't give them the time they needed? She would face her crimes, but there was no reason to involve Kade, the police, and get them killed.   


When a female cop spotted her, she nudged the cop in front of her and spoke in a whisper. Soon, half the police were staring at her.  


Crystal swallowed her fear and trudged forward, but it felt like walking through a  


Louisiana swamp. "What's going on officers?" She hoped her voice didn't sound as shaky as she felt.   


"You Ruby?" an officer with bright blue eyes and greying hair asked. The name Tackett was engraved across his badge.  


"Then come with me. They said they'll talk to you." He walked beside her.
