Fred goes back to typing on his computer, seemingly not bothered by your attitude.

You walk to your desk and switch on your computer, pausing for a moment to allow it to boot.

The office is one of those open-plan environments where if you stand up you can see most of the room. There are some windows on one of the sides, but otherwise most of the light comes from overhead lamps.

You've never particularly liked the feeling of it, though you guess it isn't so different from many offices elsewhere.
