Egypt

A life with no love and betrayal was depressing for the popular musician, Marie Dela Cruz, but everyone thought the onscreen beauty was living the luxurious life no one ever dreamt of and never knew her off screen life was the worst. Just a day and everything came crashing down. A video tape destroyed her life.

Marie rested her head on the headrest with her eyes closed and took a deep breath. She has finally escaped the hard reality of her life and is now moving into a new chapter and she wondered why she picked Egypt of all places. Egypt was the first country she called when booking a ticket and now, she's in Egypt hoping it's for the better.

"Ma'am, is this your first time in Egypt?" the cab driver asked, quickly sensing that she was new in the country.

"Yes." she replied and adjusted the scarf on her hair. "Isn't it so obvious?"

He smiled, "We have places you are going to love. Let me know when you are ready to visit those places, I will be your free tour guide."

Marie nodded and closed her eyes again, "I will remember that."

He pressed his lips together as he glanced at her through the rear mirror, noticing how quiet she was. He smiled and asked, "So what are you planning to do here? Work? School?"

Marie raised a brow. "What?"

"I mean, its obvious you are not here for a vacation."

Now that he said it, what are her plans here in Egypt? Should she go back to school to pursue her dream or start something lucrative?

She looked at the cab driver. "I haven't thought of it yet, but I will. Just want to enjoy the next three months without worries." she replied and looked out the window.

He nodded and focused on the road not saying a word again.

After driving for thirty minutes, he came to an halt in front of a small hotel, the exact one she had mentioned.

"So here we are." he said, "Welcome to Chill hills." he said.

She had picked a low budget hotel to help save her cost expenses and it was better than what she had expected it to be. She will be staying in a hidden place for the next three months and after she has healed enough will go out to set herself straight. She has all she needs for the next three months and even more, so she wasn't bothered about it. Her account have been blocked by her father, but all the money was in her secret account which she was grateful she opened.

"Welcome ma'am," the receptionist said with a smile on her face revealing her perfect white set of teeth. Marie thought that smile made her stunning.

"Hello," Marie replied. "Marie dela Cruz. I booked a room recently."

The receptionist typed on her computer and looked at Marie with a smile. "You are the renowned musician, Marie. I have been a fan since you began your journey and I will remain a fan until the last, not minding what people say about you. I know it's all a lie, and you will fight through all this. I will be here to assist you all the way." She said in one breath.

Marie was shocked at her words and shoved it away smiled at her, she wasn't going to trust anyone by their honeyed words again.

"Don't worry, ma'am," she leaned forward and whispered, "I will protect your identity as long as you are here."

"Thank you, and just call me Marie."

"OK. Its such an honor to meet you in person... I am farida."

"Nice meeting you, farida." Marie said.

The young girl gave her the keys to get room and smiled at Marie in admiration which she smiled back to and left.

The room wasn't big like her room in America, but she was satisfied with it. It was just the right place she needed to stay alone and hide herself away from the world. She dropped her suitcase and fell on the bed, with a loud sigh of relief. Getting the comfort she has always wanted since she left America.

"Finally, some comfort." she said and yawned. She closed her eyes and slowly drifted into sleep.

Marie woke up with a stare as she calmed her self. She had a nightmare, a nightmare so real that she thought it wasn't a nightmare but reality. She rubbed her sore neck and looked out the window, it was night already. She did sleep for long, but her long rest ended up in nightmare, was she so unlucky in life?

"I really need a cool off." She sat up and yawned loudly, stretching her body. A strong booze will be more comforting and that is what she needs.

She got off the bed and changed her clothes before leaving the room. She rented a car and had a little chat with Farida who couldn't stop gushing over her idol, and Marie smiled seeing the way she was happy talking to her. Farida seems like a good girl but she wasn't going to make friends or love anymore, does emotions are dead now. After picking up the key, she left the hotel to the bar Farida mentioned to her.

She had a good drink that night, getting herself drunk and relieving herself for a moment from all the troubles in her life. But how long will it last?

Marie drove down the quiet dark road singing to one a song, in her drunken state.

"Here I am, singing my song. The song I hate the most. The song he loved and I hate. How pathetic." She said. "Wow!!! This is fun." She screamed and left the steering wheel, raising her hands up with her eyes closed. The car, losing the track of the road drove itself to a different lane, with a trunk driving towards that lane. Marie opened her eyes, but it was too late as the truck was very close to her. She attempted to escape, but the trunk hit the car, which fell down the hill by the roadside.

Down the hill, the black car was turned upside down. It was damaged and was filled with smoke.

Marie opened her eyes but couldn't see clearly because of her blood that blinded her eyes.

She groaned in pain as she tried to move a bit but couldn't. Blood was trickling down her face. She couldn't feel her body.

She closed her eyes tight as the pain became unbearable. She was slowly giving in to the hands of darkness. She could hear voices,, but it soon became distant and slowly darkness took over.
