Her biggest ticket

Satiah was slipping to the ground but was stopped by a body that shielded her from reaching the floor. Satiah unconsciously gasped as the scent of the man behind her filled her nostrils. The familiar mint mixed with lemon scent that also filled her nostrils when he held her hand the day she arrived the palace.

She straightened her posture and clear her throat before she turned and looked at her savior whose gaze were on her.

"Thank...." she was cut rudely by prince Karim who walked passed her with his shoulder brushing pass hers. Satiah widened her slightly at the crown prince rude behavior and wanted to yell at him, but turning to see the gaze of everyone on her, she was forced to keep shut.

She looked down and slowly walked to the empty seat, beside a princess. She sat down and pursed her lips in embarrassment, thinking about how she slipped and almost fell in front of the royals. The three queens and the rest of the familes were all seated except the Pharaoh, who she was informed, was out of the palace for a duty.

The princess beside her tapped her hand making Satiah to look at her.

"Are you alright?" she asked in a sweet gently voice and her eyes filled with concern. Satiah nodded, earning a smile from her. "I apologize for my brother behavior." she said and put a piece of meat on her plate. "Try this meat and forget about his rudeness." she added and focused on her meal.

Satiah ate from the meat and was impressed at it sweetness. There are lot of things she is beginning to like about the past but, no way, she still prefers the future cause of the easy way of life. The past surely have good food and handsome men.

She raised her head and looked at the prince opposite her who was eating silently and unconcerned about the people seating in the room. He wasn't looking at anyone and was only focused on the food he was eating. She scoffed silently and looked away from him.

Beside the crown prince was the third prince who slept in her room at night. His scrutinizing gaze were on Satiah who didn't notice he was in the room. He was so focused on her that he almost forgot he was in the family court with the royal family. It was as if he was only with the new princess in the court, as he kept studying her. Satiah felt a piercing stare on her and raised her head to see who it was and her gaze caught his which got her to last night and who he is. The man who slept in her room and made her run out.

"My new teacher will be coming in today." the voice of the little princess forced everyone to look at her including the crown prince and the third prince who was focused on Satiah.

"Oh my dear, you are having a new teacher, that's nice." Tati said stroking her hair gently. The little princess grinned and ate a piece of meat.

"According to mummy, he is a very good teacher. But, I prefer my other teacher more." she pouted.

"Your other teacher left to go take care of her baby. You will love this new teacher too, I promise." Benerib said.

Princess Florda, the last child of the Pharaoh is his daughter from a concubine. Even though she was just a mere concubine child, she was the most loved by the Pharaoh and was treated specially by everyone.

Satiah observed the way everyone was indifferent towards the girl. Even the hungry looking second Queen, Baketmut, was been nice to the little girl. The princess seems to be the most favorite of the royal family.

A thought came into her mind and her corners lifted into a curl thinking of how successful she will be with her plan. Florda is the ticket she needs to get into the heart of everyone and slowly take them out of her way to achieve what she wants to.

The little girl is the favorite of everyone and getting her closer will make it more easier to get closer to the others. Even though she is little, she is still her biggest ticket.

She smiled sweetly at the little girl whose gaze were her, but the little twisted her lips and continued eating her meal. Satiah looked at the the crown prince who was still eating quietly and then to queen Takhat.

Queen Takhat had her plate still full as she haven't touched her meal yet. Her face was filled with sadness and depression that Satiah felt pity for her. It's surely heartbreaking for a mother to witness her son commit a big crime that deserves death. The queen is so fragile and can die easily with her soft heart.

"The queen dowager will be coming back soon. Her health is better now and she have finished her treatment." Tati pursed and sighed, "We all know what took her there. She have been sick and stressed because of everything that have been happening to this family. I hope when she gets back, we wouldn't do anything to send her back for another treatment. No one should do anything that will kill the old woman or you face the wrath of the Pharaoh. The pharaoh told me to strictly give this message to every listening ears. She is also our mother and grandmother not just the pharaoh's mother and our mother in-law and we should treat her like ours." She looked at Baketmut and said, "I hope you can settle your differences with the third Queen. Like we told you, we have a plan to set everything right." she looked at Takhat, "You should stop putting on that face and be in your most happy mood, do not make the queen dowager worry about anything." she said and stood up. "I hope my message have been passed to you." she smiled and left the court.

"Most happy mood? She deserves to be in her worst and die slowly and unhappy after what she and her son did to ruin my life." Baketmut said in a low but clear voice.

"Mother." Benerib called, but the second Queen rolled her eyes and continued eating.

Queen Takhat swallowed the lumps in her throat and stood up. She bowed to the second Queen and left the court hurriedly.

"Mother see what you did." Benerib said unhappily as the third Queen left the court.

"What? someone has to tell her the truth." Baketmut said nonchalantly.
