Chapter 13: Elijah

Logan sat at his messy desk with two empty bottles and a plate of bones from the three rare steaks that he had picked clean. Papers littered the top of the desk from his full day of researching Elijah and trying to find out every little detail about his life. He had quickly become obsessed with the client due to how odd the situation felt. No other client had chosen to be as cryptic as this one.

Cleo burst into his study, stealing his attention away from the paperwork in front of him. “Elijah contacted me and had a change of plans.”

“What now?” Logan growled the words past his clenched teeth.

“He wants to meet once before the actual deal. He’s made reservations at a restaurant on the edge of town.” Cleo licked her lips and pulled out her phone to text Logan a time and location. “Don’t be late.” She gestured towards him with her index finger and her phone in her hand before she left him alone again.
