Gwen held onto the headrest that was on Logan’s side as the car jostled from side to side down the gravel road. “So, where are we parking?”


“Pretty far out.” Logan licked his lips and used the heel of his palm to turn the wheel, taking a turn.


Rocks bounced off the bottom of the SUV as they drove down the road further until he found a good place to park. He put it into park beside some tall pine trees, one of which had been struck by lightning. Gwen took a deep breath, getting ready for the hurricane that was about to take place.


“Stay close to my side until we get closer and then you can break off from me,” Logan slipped out of the vehicle with her behind him.


Alex stayed back with the wolf in the car, petting him behind his ears. He planned to leave once he was called to release her pet. If they could even call Forrest that.
