Going To The Ball

Since Isabelle came home today from school she has been crying, it was now just sobbing since she had no more tears. As she got home she received a call from Amy. She wanted to ignore it but since she didn't need her coming to her house she picked up and told her she had a stomach ache and she would be fine after a few hours of sleep. As for Silas he called and asked if she was alright, immediately Isabelle said yes, he told her he was traveling for witch stuff.

Isabelle realized he only called her to tell her about his travel and not to ask about her health. She scoffed at how she wasn't even sad about it. Isabelle kept thinking of Hunter and how she had offended him. She couldn't think of anything but feel so weak and somewhat guilty. "Why do I feel like this towards him, why does his opinion matter so much, how miserable will I be if he finds his mate." She soliloquized.

"Isabelle I am home" Her mom called. Mrs. King is a very beautiful woman. Isabelle has many stories of how men were after her in her younger days. And the sophisticated way in which Mrs. Kings carries herself was a way Isabelle will never be able to carry herself. Most times Isabelle feels like she is pale in her mother's comparison. If only she knew how beautiful she is in the eyes of Hunter, she would grow wings and fly to the sky.

"I am up in my room doing assignments." She lied, she didn't want her mother to see her like this. Her eyes were red from crying. She thought of how she had never cried like this over any emotional situation. Isabelle felt the need to figure out her feelings and sort herself out. With that on her mind, she slept off.

Isabelle woke feeling so heavy, her head hurts. She got up, went downstairs and brought out cold water from the fridge, and gulped down.

"Are you alright?" Her mom asked and Isabelle turned. Mrs. Kings was standing by the kitchen door wearing a nice dress which indicates she was going out

"I am fine just a slight headache" Isabelle roamed her eyes all over her "where are you going?"

"We're going to a ball party hosted by the royal vampires." she said.

"Oh, so where is dad?"

"Here I am" he came to view wearing a nice tux, he is really a fine man and I have some of his qualities like his dark brown eyes and I have my mother's curves, such a lovely family we are.

"Let us go honey we don't plan to be late, remember Hunter is coming." Said Mr. Kings. He was yet to have the honor of meeting Hunter so he wasn't ready to pass out on such an opportunity. He knows that currently the most powerful individual is Hunter and whoever happens to be on his good side should be considered lucky. If only supernaturals didn't have mates, Mr. Kings would have certainly set his daughter up with Hunter. He wouldn't force his daughter but would have tried his best to convince her. He also believes that Hunter wouldn't have been able to resist the charm of his daughter. He felt it was unfortunate that Hunter wouldn't bat an eye towards his daughter because of the mate situation.

With the name Hunter, a thousand scenarios rushed through Isabelle's mind

"You mean the King of supernatural?" She asked just to be sure

"Yes" Answered Mrs. Kings as she held her husband's arms and they both went out and entered their car.

"Don't wait for us, dear." Her dad said as he drove off before Isabelle could say another word. She thought it would have been better if she went with them. The parents would have been surprised because Isabelle had always hated going to any formal with them. They would have found it's weird but would have allowed her to follow them, they would be happy even. She remembered the look on Hunter's face and thought it would be a waste to go because Hunter wouldn't have spoken to her. She pouted and went back upstairs to take a bath.

She spent more than 30 minutes in the bath but she still didn't clear her head. She felt stupid bothering herself over someone that is not hers, she felt hopeless. Isabelle tried sleeping but that seemed to be difficult as she kept turning and tossing on her bed. After tossing for hours she made up her mind to go to the ball and search for Hunter. She grabbed her black hoodie and went straight to the garage. She never loved driving but she didn't mind doing that for Hunter. She opened the car and luckily the engine revved alive, she smiled and felt happy because it's been a long time she drove it. She drove off thinking of the last time she went to the vampire town. Isabelle had never liked going to the vampire town it is always dead silent and cold, even her parents would always complain how they hated it. It's a town she never liked but today she had to go and being alone in the car was no fun. She wished she could call her friend Amy to escort her but she shook her head and dropped the thought. Even with the peace, Vampires, and Wolves hardly see eye to eye, they love to avoid each other. Isabelle tried putting on the radio to keep herself company but it didn't respond

"Stupid radio" She muttered and focus on the road.

She was almost there when the unexpected happened, the car went off that was when she noticed the fuel gauge, it was empty.

"No no no no, this can't be not in this spooky place." She was literally scared because she knew vampires' favorite food is blood. Even with the peace, they can't deny their basic nature which is the urge to kill. Isabelle didn't want to be anybody's food, instead of stalling she opened the door and took off in the direction of where the was being held. She knew it was being held at the Royal house, she knew the direction because she had been there more than twice.

She was already getting tired, she was never good at sports but she still tried to run as fast as she could. Isabelle stopped as she noticed some movement behind her. She looked back but saw nothing. She felt she was just being paranoid. She continued running towards the ball and regretted ever wearing the heavy hoodie. Also, she kept getting this feeling of being watched and being followed and it made her increase her pace. Her eyes widened when she looked back and saw shadows behind her, she gasped and started running frantically but stopped as she bumped into something solid. She fell back and felt dizzy, she shook her head and tried to get her bearings. Though her vision was blurry Isabelle noticed she didn't hit a wall but a vampire and surrounding her were 5 vampires. Her fear of being someone's food was about to become a reality.
