LESS THAN AN INCH CLOSER

Lucien had already woken up just before the sun had risen that morning to prepare Blair a breakfast. He knew he didn't need to do that, but Lucien felt excited about doing it. He was so keen on seeing Blair first thing in the morning.

Maev had reminded him to let Blair drink some tea that was made with the dried tea leaves Lucien picked to help Blair regain her strength faster. Blair had never been out of her room since after what happened during the dinner. She was fine, but her werewolf strength hadn't recovered.

She tried to test it last night by shifting, but she couldn't turn. Not until Blair could do that, Lucien couldn't let Blair visit her mom. He couldn't stop thinking, what if other wolves saw her and snatched her? She would be too weak to even run away if she couldn't transform.

Lucien knocked on Blair's door. Since Blair was still on her bed last night, Lucien left it unlocked. That way, he could quickly check on her if something happened.
