"You never caught sight of them?" Ulrich asked.

Elmer responded, "No, my lord, they escaped through a side tunnel a mile back, and they simply disappeared." Frustration flashed through his eyes. Ulrich could sympathize. He was anxious for a bit of blood and violence himself. After all, this realm was not his domain and he knew his demons were not comfortable here either, but he feared that there were more than these circumstances that appeared to be a kidnapping mistake because there was no way of knowing what truly happened.

"There are only a handful of witches capable of vanishing into thin air," Logan muttered from Elmer's back.

"The elf thinks it's dark magic, my lord," Elmer suggested.
