The vehicle’s air-conditioner provided welcome relief as they drove to Jed’s new office in the centre of Phnom Penh.
“I like your new office Jed,” said Ravuth gazing at the modern furnishings and equipment.”
“Yeah, it’s better than the old dump,” replied Jed.
Jed poured himself a glass of bourbon, gave Cake and Ravuth a coke, and they sat at his desk. “I bet you are thrilled, Buddy. I bet you can’t wait to find your home.”
Ravuth nodded and smiled.
“Okay, let’s make a start,” said Jed and smiled.
Ravuth smiled, went into his holdall, took out the copies for Jed of the satellite images he’d brought with him with the village circled on it and the images from Google Earth showing where he thought the trail began, and handed them to Jed
Jed told Ravuth that he would be busy sorting out the Bangkok clients, so suggested that Ravuth went along with Cake and Oun to find the village.
