The Wrong Mate

"Yes, Tala. You are going.'' My dad speaks and the authoritative tone in his voice makes my skin crawl.

I have never really been ordered around by my parents before. Growing up, they let me make my mistakes, so I don't even understand why this is any different.

Yeah, I shut off my humanity but it was my decision. it shouldn't matter to them.

The night they found out; they left me alone for a couple of days but now they are here with this ultimatum.

One that doesn't make any sense.

My papa is less angry right now "You can't refuse. Think about it as a vacation away from the pack."

I want to tell them that I don't need a vacation but they will not listen to me right now.

"The green springs pack is not a vacation.''

Papa smiles "You know that it is. Colm and Khalid are going for a weekend. It will do you some good to go with them."
