Chapter 4 Emperor Beast

Star Dou Great Forest was situated on the south edge of the Heaven Dou Empire ten thousand years ago, the forest spanning the two great empires. Since the spirit beasts here were numerous, this was also the region where the border between the two nations was least clear. From looking at a map, the larger part of Star Dou Great Forest's area was within the Star Luo Empire.

As one of the three big wild spirit beast habitats, this naturally was the place spirit masters most wished to be able to hunt, because every time coming here meant they would advance.

Nobody could say clearly for just how many years Star Dou Great Forest had existed on Douluo Continent, but after entering the forest, hiding the sky and covering the earth's lushness was sufficient to tell people it was an ancient existence.

Bursts of clear air caressing from ahead, brought the scent of plants penetrating deeply in the heart, unspeakably comforting. With deep breaths of fresh and clean air, the whole body's thirty-six thousand pores seemed to completely stretch open, that kind of feeling was so relaxing it was hard to put into words.

The Star Dou Forest was a green ocean, vibrant green as far as the eye could see ahead, that kind of comforting clear air came from there.

Even in the outermost parts, tall trees exceed at least twenty meters. The dense forest was basically without paths, shadowed heavily by trees, unable to see the true scene within.

Arriving before the forest, the air became even more relaxing, seemingly like the temperature dropped a bit. The fresh and cool feeling continuously brings a moist earth fragrance to stimulate everyone's sense of smell.

Currently Xiao Li was roasting a dead spirit beast over a large fire. Next to her was a very aloof thirteen- or fourteen-year-old teenager. Her long, white hair flowed freely to her legs, and her sky-blue eyes were very clear. It was as if she could see through everything in the world. Her slender figure was flawless, and her long white dress wasn't adorned with any accessories. However, she still looked very elegant and ravishing.

The spirit beast embryo that Xiao Li found in the Extreme North six years ago was the Snow Empress, one of the Three Arctic Kings and ranked third amongst the Continent's top 10 Great Beasts.

Although her origin power was all collected and healed, she still became a young girl that seemed to be only two or three years old. Her chubby body was covered in a snow-white, cotton skirt.

Even though she was only left with a shred of her origin power, the Snow Empress paid very meticulous attention to her appearance. She stood out above the common crowd and had a proud demeanor.

Spirit fruits from Xiao Li's orchard had been dried and stored in Cinnabar Sweet Osmanthus' nectar inside glass bottles.

After absorbing the osmanthus nectar, the spirit fruits looked like beautiful crystals that would pique anyone's appetite.

Xue Di created an ice needle to pick out the sweet fruits from inside the bottle and happily tucked in.

Xiao Li observed her status while brushing osmanthus honey on the roasting meat.

Her spiritual power was quickly unlocked with the dual cultivation of the Great Single Soul skill and her second spirit skill, Fiery Eyes.

Fiery Eyes was an eye skill to absorb fire elements to cultivate the eyes' strength while also increasing spiritual power. It is able to nullify basic spiritual skills, traps and grant a certain level of fire resistance.

When Fiery Eyes was cultivated to level 5, they became Fiery Golden Eyes. It allows one to observe the future, perform predictions and can nullify most spiritual attacks!

Xiao Li compiled a simplified version of the Fiery Eyes for the spirit guidance masters of the Sun Moon Empire. On one hand it could increase their spiritual power while allowing them to gain fire resistance when forging metals.

"It smells so good." Behind Xiao Li came a sound like a lady with a moving voice.

From the bushes stepped out a spirit beast with golden fur, and its body seemed semi-transparent, it gave off a very special feel. Its body was shaped like a lion, but its claws were that of a dragon. There were even golden flames coming off its dragon claws. Its mouth was longer than that of usual lion-type soul beasts, and there seemed to be golden scales beneath the fur. On top of that, it had a third eye apart from the normal two eyes, which appeared vertical.

Both its normal eyes flashed gold, while the vertical eye emitted a red light. The red seemed slightly freakish.

"Emperor Beast!" Xue Di's eyes widened in disbelief.
