CHAPTER 4

Kuro Andre was a Nigerian-Jamaican of 17years of age. He was light, tall, skinny and had curly honey brown afro. His grey coloured eyes lits up whenever he smiled or laughed. Andre's looks were charming and truth be told he was my spec. He had the physical features I needed in a guy but then behind those charming features was a monster.

Kuro Andre was an Eminem. Here at Rainbow High when we say "Eminem", we are talking about the rich and popular kids. He was an Eminem and also a monster , you need see how he bullies other students, how he mess them on and puts fear in them. Most of them are too terrified to come back to school after having an encounter with him. No single soul had ever dared to report him to the school authorities. He always felt good in making others feel less of their selves, always wanting to be the boss.

"Like Lord!!! This kid is just too cute for such horrible characters he possesses.

The bell for lunch break finally rang after the wait that seemed like forever. I rushed down to the cafeteria, where I knew I would find my girls at that time. Behold I spotted them right were I expected, at our usual table.

I went straight to the counter to get food before going to sit with them.

"Good afternoon Mrs. Bells", I greeted the lady at the counter.

"Afternoon sweet", she said, raising her head slightly away from what she was doing behind the counter to look at me then dropped it back almost immediately.

"The usual?", she asked still facing whatever it is she was doing.

"No Ma, I want something different", I replied.

" Okay then, shot", She said.

"Oil rice with perewinkles and a turkey", I requested.

"A minute", she said then reached around for a plate and trail. Dished out my food and handed it to me.

I went to the drink shop, got a bottle of smoove Chapman and water. Then head to my table.

"What did I missed?", I said sitting down and dropping my trail on the table.

"ONG!!!! Tokoni you came to school", Kelechi said in surprise.

" like girl! We missed you so much", Melody added dramatically.

"Yeah yeah.. Now can you spare me this me lo-drama and move straight to the part were you tell me what I had missed out on", I said with an eager voice and stare, then placed my fork on my turkey. I drew the blade of my knife deeply across it, folded the strip with the fork and stuffed it into my Mouth.

"Awwwn ... Such cry, my baby girl hasn't heard what happened", Kelechi said blinking her eyes very fast as she pushed her upper lips in and lower lips out, making her face look like that of a child.

"How could you say you haven't heard what happened? I knew you weren't in school for a week but the news has already spread around the town even faster than wild fire", Melody said with a low but suprise tone.

"Oh please! If I knew what had happened then I definitely wouldn't be asking the both of you because it would be a complete waste of time. Now for the one hundred and sixty time, can the both of you fill me in on whatever I had missed put on?", I said. The eagerness in my voice had faded away and it had been replaced with annoyance.

"Okay fine.. But", Kelechi said the stopped.

"Kay Kay but what?", I asked this time around with more of eagerness and less annoyance.

"But say Please first", She said, staring directly me with her lips folded to the side.

"What? Seriously Kay, this isn't time for your silly jokes", I said.

"Silly jokes you say. No my baby, I'm not joking. If you don't say please , neither I nor Melody will say anything", Kelechi said

"You too Mel?",I asked as I turned to Melody and she turned her face the other way in an half smile, half laughter.

(Sighed)" Okay fine. Please", I said almost frustrated. I always did this when ever either of them ask of something from me. Never knew being fed my own medicine would be this frustrating.

"Huh, you say?" Kelechi asked, rising an eyebrow.

"Ma'am can you pleaseeee tell me what I missed?", I asked again.

"Now that would do. Mel you can fill her in on whatever she desires", Kelechi said with a satisfied voice. Placing her hands on Melody's shoulder and the both of them let a giggle. Just as sudden Melody's face turned pale and worried .

" Mel what?", I asked.

"Justin is dead, he committed suicide", Melody replied.

"What? Lies! How could he? Why would he? Justin? Suicide? Impossible!! Oh oh oh wait.. It's not Koroye Justin you are talking about right?", I asked puzzled.

Koroye Justin was na SS3 Eminem. He was the best and hottest basket captain in the whole history of Rainbow High. He was also the best academic student in the whole school. Justin was principal Rose's Favorite. He literally had everything. How and why would he have comiited suicide.

"According to what we heard, he was going through shits like depression", Kelechi replied.

"Depression?", I asked in extreme shock.

"Yes you heard me. DE-PRES-SION", Kelechi replied.

"( chuckled)"This is funny. Like when did the rich start going through depression?(In Nigerian pidgin) omo Una dey talk sha", I said.

Both Kelechi and Melody looked at each other in surprise. I bet at that point, they thought I was high on something.

"Tokoni what was that for? You just made it seemed like I had said something really stupid", Kelechi asked.

"Before nko ? What you said was all shades of stupid. Like what made you believe that the rich do go through or experience depression? What made you believe the son of Pastor Koroye V. Tarila could express depression? What was he depress about? How his family will acquire more wealth than they already have? Or how he would wear cloths worth people's salaries, enter a car worth millons, go to Cold stone and take pictures with a phone worth people's salaries then post them online and caption it " We out"???is it what he was depress about? Come on girls, we know rich people don't experience depression, they have nothing to be depress about. Justin was literally a coward and an ungrateful idiot to have committed suicide",I replied then began eating again.

"Tokoni!!!", Kelechi and Melody said automatically in great amusement in their eyes and voices.

" what?", I asked. Not really paying attention to them anymore. I was now focused on my lunch since the gist I had been eager to hear wasn't as exciting as I had expected.

"Omo babe , the way you speak at times makes it seem like you have never seen the four walls of a school class room before not to talk of learning but sadly you are an SS2 student of the well known Prestigious Rainbow High Academy", Kelechi remarked.

"Mtchwwww, are you done?", I asked giving a a stare then face my head down to my plate of food.
